Hendon v Slough Town: MATCH THREAD

Fairly even game today. A late Hendon goal gave them a deserved draw after a superb McCleary lob. Hendon really upped the tempo in the second half and produced a battling display. Few chances created again.

Thought we did ok in the first half in terms of creating chances as I can think of five which is more than we usually make in a match! Second half we didn't get a sight and I think whilst a good goal, McCleary's strike did have a stroke of fortune about it.

Got to say Slough were lucky to get any points today..the second half was very very difficult for Slough to get into the game..the goal for Slough was the only bright spot in the second half...a cracking Goal !

Clarke and Woody had good games..hodgie tried and tried...and set up the goal...

Hendon deserved at the very least the one point they eventually got !

Head's up you Rebels...we know you can play better....

agreed masters was my motm by a country mile today... thought hodges looked a little nervous outside the area today... anyone have any ideas why? i mean i know he's not exactly famous for his 25 yard shots but he looked a little worried today

This is ganna sound a little harsh (as Hendon probably deserved to win today) but it seems that when we play teams who like to 'battle' and get the ball forward as quickly as possible we seem to fall into the trap of copying them and don't pass the ball around, which is when we are at our best.

Take games against MK Dons, Margate, AFC. We played some great football against teams who also like to pass the ball. But if we play against a team (and i'm not having a go at any opposition team) who play to their strengths and like the long ball and a scrap we seem to totally forget to play to ours.

Anyway generally thought we struggled in centre midfield today Moleski and Ballard does not seem to be working in the midfield at the moment. Would have liked to have seen Eddie put Alexis in there or drop Chopper or Leigh Mason into that position.

Keeps the gap for us and Hendon the same as it was so that's good.

Quality goal yesterday by McCleary, was very pleased with the build up for ours too. Thought a draw was the right result, we certainly didn't deserve to lose, but I feared the worst after you scored given our recent dreadful scoring record.

Good to see a decent number of away supporters as always from Slough. Good luck for the rest of the season.
