Apparently the players they want to keep are still on full wages, the players who have had their wages cut are free to leave through breach of contract. An underhand but effective way of clearing out the people you don`t want?

You can but i believe that they have to have been without a club for 30 days to be classed as a free agent.

not sure if the 30 day rule applies if the employer breaks the terms of the contract - I see Simon Wormull has gone to Lewes, I am assuming he is eligible to play for them straightaway but I don't know for sure

The transfer window doesn't apply below conference national. You can have "free agents" on your books, but it has to be on a non-contract basis, which means that they can walk away whenever they get a better off.

We signed Adam Tann on this basis, he played one match for us then upped and left for Forest on the Monday.
