Sad news to hear about the death of Peter Osgood aged 59.

 

Apparently he was at a family funeral in Slough and collapsed. He was taken to Wexham Park but was pronounced dead from a massive heart attack.

 

My condolences go to all his family.

ive said it elsewhere ill say it again, a true saints legend, even though i was not around to see it, but have heard the stories and seen that 76 cup final.

When I was a school boy I first saw Ossie on the pitch at Slough Grammar playing for Berks and Bucks under 16's I think against Oxford-the score was 13-0 and Ossie scored 11 of them-one of the all time greats in my book.

Very sad to hear the news of Peter Osgood. Saw the great man play on many occasions back in the 70's. Would have been worth tens of millions today. Unlike modern players, Peter put infinitely more into football than he ever took out of it. Rest in peace, Ossie.

I concur with everybody, a great player.

Remember Peter was in the team that played Slough at The Dolphin after chelsea had won the european cup winners trophy... over 8000 people packed into Dolphin..that night..
