Thats terrible news.

 

I was never a Chelsea fan, but this man was one of my favourites as a kid. He had a good touch for a big man but was well able to mix it if he had to.

 

He will be sadly missed by all and especially those who stood in The Shed.

i wasnt around when he was at southampton but as a current saints fan i know he is a real legend. i have heard the stories of the old days and have seen the 76 cup final though.

and off all places to die too, in the town of my other team slough!!!

I never saw him play but had the pleasure of meeting him about ten years ago. His my dads best mate's wifes cousin and it was her father's funeral that Peter fainted during.

 

My dads mate, Bob, managed to get Peter to give me and Bob's son, Danny, a guided tour around Stamford Bridge. We went into the home changing room and met most of the players and then into the managers office to meet the manager of the time Glenn Hoddle.

 

Like I say never saw him play but the time I did experience his company was very well spent.
