MATCH THREAD - Vs MK Dons

From what I've heard we had the odd mistake for a couple of goals, but overall played well but in the end the difference in class took its toll.

Just have to wait for the guys to get back and thraw off for their comments (sure they will have other opinions <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />)

Strange game really - never a battering and for parts of the game more than matched them - especially in the first half.

Trouble was the defending. Probably 5 of the 6 goals were down to poor defending, which cost us in the end dearly.

Back four missed Woody's pace covering round the back and we struggled a bit in centre midfield, but up front we caused them problems all night and desreved more than the one goal.

I thought we looked decent enough at 1-1 and at 1-2 down... ultimately class showed though against a very strong and skilful MK Dons team. They limited our chances, but half of their goals were down to poor defending. Poor Michael Parkin had another game to forget. I think he could have done better with at least two of the goals. Another was a poor backpass from Daly. Overall, Slough's defence didn't cope very well at all against a strong attack.

A little humiliating maybe to have lost 6-1, but we can 'concentrate on the league' now and retain that League Cup!

Gotta feel sorry for Parkin - hes come into the last 2 games without playing a game for the past 3 months due to Masters and the fact Windsor's pitch is too poor to play reserve matches on.

Give him a few more games and I think we all know he will be back to his best.

Too cold to comment last night.

Was a pleasing enough performance. They were clinical in the area, we weren't. We gifted a couple of goals by failing to clear the ball from the area, but for large periods of the game we were as good as they were. Better fitness towards the end increased the scoreline.

Good night though I thought, apart from the cold. The chav element were hilarious. To think they told us to go and support a 'proper team'. Martin, Nibbler and I walked past my 'children' on the way back to the car but none of them gave it the large. I heard one of them say 'Gav, go on, fight him' but whoever Gav was didn't act on this, probably because he was too cold to care.

Anyway, the end of our abnormal football stadium tour after successive trips to Walton, Chelmsford (both athletics) and the MK National Hockey Stadium. Bring on Hendon.
