Well done Gaspode.

It wasn't a good game last night or on Saturday and if you are going to buy season tickets for next year <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" /> you had better get used to it as you will no doubt see some awful games then as well, stick with it though because every now and then you will get to see a great game and it does make it worthwhile.

Welcome Gaspode, but I'm afraid you are likely to come in for some stick because you are making the basic eror of talking sense!

Was pretty dire last night but better than saturday and (I'm reliably informed) 3x better than Forest Green! And I cant remember being so cold for ages!

Thought Moore did ok but was left exposed and the great runs he was making were all down the right channel, wheresas he should be aiming to do the same in the area of the paenalty spot. That said, when he runs with the ball he looks a clas act.

Am I the only one who thinks that Drury looks totally disinterested for long periods of the game. When he "plays" he is great stuff but he is NOT a 90 minute player.

Rawle, holds the ball up well and he made all the wrong decisions when he ran with the ball, but he is far better than Coleman and certainly a better target than drury.

As for the rest? McCarthy played well and Watkins made a stunning interception when one of their players was clean through on goal.

I thought that the shape and balance of the side improved immediately once Rawle came on, and our all round play was much better in the second half.

Exactly. I'm all for dropping a player or two to shake things up if that's what's needed, but to drop Sodje AND Rawle, when the latter in particular had done nothing wrong on Saturday, and replace them with someone who should only be played up front in an emergency (Drury), was a mistake.

Crawley weren't very good (that Gordon bloke up front was useless, and ex-League man Scully is a waste of expensive space) and we definitely lost two points there.

But Andy Y - it was definitely 'warmer' than Saturday, almost balmy by comparison!

However, Bobby was absent last night, and his return, coupled hopefully with that of Jay, would improve matters in this department.

What a terrible miss from him from close range when he blasted it over!

And Stu, you're quite right about the absence of Sodje and Rawle from yesterday's starting line-up. When a forward line's misfiring, changes are advisable, but not wholesale ones like last night (especially when one of the forwards introduced isn't actually a forward).

Worryingly, on current form and league standings, it's quite plausible that we'll get no points from our next three games - which makes our inability to defeat relegation candidates in the last three games all the more frustrating.

Yeh took a knock on Saturday didn't he?

Anyone able to clarify the exact nature of Bobby's injury?

I do personally think that the problem is we are lacking enthusiasm in the team at current bar a few.

This is what i suggest, agree or dissagree if you will.

Our players that are not 'Local Lads' really dont have the passion that a real gravesend or northfleet born and bred 'Native' would have,

Eg:- Jimmy Jackson & Luke Moore. tuesday nights most enthusiastic individuals, chasing everything and really trying to get the ball. is it coincidence that they are Local Lads?

No dissrespect to them but the other team members Non locals who have to travel long distances to games/training don't have the passion because they don't acctually support the fleet, so why would they care if we let in a last minute equaliser on a freezing cold evening, at the end of the day they still get their money.

How many of you (if you had the talent) would have played for free on Tuesday night?

you all would. and because you all support the team you would work your B******s off to make sure that you protected your lead, (if you weren't already 3-0 up).

Forget signing a £50,000 Conference superstar from Accrington, how about a talent search at the fleet leisure? in a X-Factor style.

Passion and team spirit will always win over talent.

I would give up my weekend to help set this up (But i don't have the talent)

Except they won't get their win bonus, and the defenders will have lost their clean sheet bonus, so it probably did matter to them.

David. is the idea of a talent search in pre-season workable do you think?

Probably workable, but IMO completely pointless. If you want teams based on where players live, then Northfleet Rec on a Sunday is the place to be.

On my travels today I happened to chance upon a local radio station near Gatwick reporting that the Crawley Chairman has put the whole team up for sale once the transfer window opens again and as from today halved their wages.

This is of course in breeach of contract and they all heve the right to walk out. They were not expecting any players to report in tomorrow.

The funny thing is, when interviewed, John Hollins said he didn't know that the chairman had taken these measures and would now be considering his own future at the club.

So, yet another bubble about to burst before our very eyes ! LOL
