The loan of Robert Watkins from Premiership Fulham FC has been extended for a further two months.

Manager Liam Daish said: “Robert has settled in very quickly and looks a very solid defender, we are pleased to have secured his signature for another couple of months.”

 

Meanwhile Danny Gloziers’ loan to Tonbridge Angels FC has been extended for a further month

 

 

WHY OH WHY he is crap, all he does is blast it into the stands or up the pitch. Get Danny or Skins back in for christ sake.

Hopefully with a spot of full time training, he will learn that you do not have to kick the cover off the ball every time it comes to you.

Cannot actually remember him making a pass less than 40 yards.

Of course Skins has never resorted to blasting the ball somewhere either side of the pitch boundaries...

Having seen all of his games he'd done OK. A decent all round defender.

Yeh support the players on a matchday but this place is to write your views isn't it?

 

He has a good cross on him when he gets forward but does tend to lump it a lot. Not that bad defender but work to be done.

Mikefleet - you seem to pre-judge situations not having full details of ALL the facts. You obviously do not know under what instructions he had from the coaches 'to hit the corners all the time'

I rarely get involved in the regular slanging matches on here but why oh why do people who obviously have no appreciation of the game feel the need to slag off players.

 

the only highlight of Saturdays game was Watkins delightful cross with the outside of his boot in the first half, the type an old fashioned traditional centre forward would have planted in the back of the net. maybe coming from Fulham he expects that a centre forward ( mcbride , helguson etc ) may know what a decent cross looks like.

 

I think he has done a sound job at LB, and certainly has been more consistant than others who have occupied that slot this season.

 

I will go back into my shell now, but that post did rile me.

After a performence like saturdays think individuals cannot be blamed I think the team as a whole played badly.Felt very litte conviction from either side.Fleet see the pirates use the wind first half and tried to play the same big boot game. I always think we play better on the deck and a more of a passing game,I watched jukebox on sat beat half there team it seemed,on two occasions crossed the ball, and there was no one there to greet the cross.watched him walk away shrug his shoulders very disappointed at the second attempt and fell quiet. Think he gave up trying

He's not a hugely creative player (although we have seen a couple of decent crosses from him when he's ventured forward) and sometimes his distribution is a bit off, but he's a solid tackler and intercepter of passes. So not 'crap', then.

I recognize that many others have already replied in a similarly measured vein, but I thought to myself, why not join in the fun?

It is a shame that Skins isn't getting many games at present in his testimonial year though.

My Dartford supporting, lager shandy drinking, sparkling mineral water, friend, who was in attendance on Saturday, thought Watkins was quite good !

The BBC were keen to let everyone know - they originally had the story on pages 4, 8,9,11, and 12 of P323 of teletext, as well as page 391! Looks like they've now got rid of the replication on P323 however.
