last night's game

Recommended Posts

very impressed with the legend - Garry Abbott - very skilfull, the ball sticks to him like glue when he wants it to, and is sprayed around with pin point precision and pace to those around him. And He knows where the goal is with head and foot as his two gaols showed. Looks nothing like 38, very fit and the business.

Delighted also to see Danny Lye come back in the last 20 minutes. His legs look spindly, and he was tentative to begin with, understandably, but produced a lovely cross field pass of 40 yards, and got into a front position well, and more importantly he did not get injured, welcome back Danny.

Abbo is a class performer as nearly all Welling fans will tell you.

He never ran around much as a youngster and is unlikely to start now. However with the right service he will score goals in the Conference and is probably more dangerous in front of goal with his head than his feet.

Good luck Abbo.

Gary Abbott did have a good game last night and he seemed to have a good shot on him. Remember, though, that Akpo also appeared to have a good shot on him but then it turned out that power isn't everything. Abbo, on the other hand managed to get the majority of his shots on target and troubled the keeper on a number of occasions. Hopefully his form will last a little longer than Akpo's and will prove a good player in the Scarborough game and beyond.

Come on you Reds!!
