Life's a bitch eh? Good that the council have helped you out, I'm guessing that if you have a good year next year you wouldnt be allowed up to the Conference with that ground.

Yep, quite correct, DJDM. Need to develop the side by the athletic centre side to increase capacity. Anticipate we will have a higher playing budget for next season.

At the end of the day Kevin, just be happy that your club has managed to find a home. It's clear that you've had a lot of support from your local council - we've had bugger all. If people visit your ground then expect some sort of comments about it. If you don't like it, ignore and move on. I personally think Chelmsford have done as well as can be expected in making an athletics ground suitable for hosting football matches. It's far from ideal, but it's a home and will hopefully improve with time as the club strives for promotion(s).

I agree with Matt on this one.

It was a very good idea to have the roll on teracing behind the goals which helped things hugely compared to some other athletics based football teams. Would never have caught me in the "grandstand" though as it seemed miles away.

Slough probably had around 100 travelling none of whom had a particularly good time for various reasons - none of which was helped by the fact that it was freezing cold and we were awful.

well nor can you either. All i said was the ground was lifeless, dull and patrolled by knuckledragging neanderthals (check, check and check) and you go off in a huff and ask what (lack of) facilities we have, and you accuse me of being unreasonable?

Lighten up, Nibbler....only playing you along a
tad on a dreary morning.

Seriously though....what's your situation for next season? Will you still be at W+E or might you be based elsewhere...say, Maidenhead?

Sorry, Kev. LONG weekend. It's looking like it's a toss-up between Maidenhead and Beaconsfield. Maidenhead would be bad as it's right by a railway line and floods at a moments notice. Beaconsfield is a lot smaller but seems a lot nicer. Of course we could go back to Wexham Park, but how we can finance getting the ground back up to working order is another matter.

Is that where Beaconsfield SYCOB play? Haven't
been to Maidenhead.

i know i would prefer maidenhead simply because its very close to my house and also i could not get over to SYCOB.

the pitch at maidenhead seems to be in a shocking condition atm, i have seen it a lot going past on the train to reading and it looks awful from the trainline i hate to think what its like up close.

but at this rate it looks like maidenhead could be saved if they manage to cling on to the right relegation spot this season, assuming this merger of the two cambridge clubs goes ahead.

"The guy that dived to get hodgey sent off should be shot;"

You should go to specsavers, He actually put his studs up high across the knee of the player and he knew what he had done hence the fact he didnt even wait for the second yellow.

Frustration probably at a disallowed goal and a bad team performance.

I think anybody who sits in that stand needs the specsavers work. Very nice and big but a long way from the pitch.

That aside, you're making it up about Hodges not waiting for the second yellow. After the free was award he walked past the referee to get back into position. It was after consultation with the assistant that the ref decided to call him over and present him with a second yellow.

Regardless of whether it was a foul and/or bookable offence (will do the Stuart Pearce thing of saying that is for the ref to decide, not me as a supporter) I think we as Slough fans were rather incensed by the way the fouled Chelmsford player writhed on the ground until our man was sent off, but as soon as the card was shown he jumped to his feet with not a single wince of pain on his face. You in the main stand may of course have seen something different, but that was certainly how it appeared to the supporters behind the goal

Whether hodges did touch him or not is immaterial he was screaming and crying like a little bitch about what was nothing, I never said it wasnt a foul but you're guy milked big style and it always pisses me off when anyone does that. He knew who was behind him, he knew he was ona yellow card and he was damn sure going to get him sent off..

As for the disallowed goal, i cant see how any one would be frustrated it was absolutely miles offside.

hi all dave here.

andy gets us there as usual or of cause a.neil and co. then too good to be true exe slough town steward and at least just brief search as they trusted me as i know that anything like a pen top could have been afensive to there rules. would they take the tops off pens or the like. i don'nt take notes much thease days anyway. but stopped people with cans of lilt.##

i found the tea bar very hostile i counted out the right money for overpriced food and one of the ladies said oh you can count can you. i do try has college gone to waste. food will be a couple of minutes walking aside to let others put orders in told amidiatly to come back and said beef and tomarto all right as obvieasly doe's not say what other flavers. however food was passable if quite nice. then tring to get in the bar triing to keep warm and not allowd to eat food in there clubhouse sadly this is pre conferance rules to get evryone rady for onther season in the rymon premior seems to me they may not make the playoffs.

i sat in the stand first half great warm sun but blimin cold with the sun dipping down and the wind noticing i could actualy watch the game from both ends if freezing cold.

sadley we rearly were pants and would do well to survive with maldon and braintree in essex for sure and still a fare few fixtures left could be in for a bumpy ride feel we may finnish fife or six from botham with hodgy suspended woafully will not help us survive. im sorry we will survive and will we be thrown other lifeline next year.

take care dave programes
