Chelmsford City v Slough Town: MATCH THREAD

I feel the slough fans have made some very valid cases regarding the Chelmesford game, Peter of Chelmesford has tried to defend his case, but please take these issues to your council, because if the points are not sorted your club will be seen to be un welcoming and people will vote with their feet (especiallly away fans) and not bother with this fixture again...sad but true....

Its not sour grapes ! This was the most officious stewarding since we visted Southport ! in the conference and its not good for the Non League game !

Though according to Peter Foster, the only way to get food in the clubhouse on a matchday is if you are wearing a blazer - and lets be honest, hell will freeze over before we see Warren in a blazer <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Are you a Slough TOWN supporter ? If so, try and be a bit more articulate - if at all possible - and please explain to me the all merits and wonderful facilities (which I can't recall you having) at your old now sadly dilapidated stadium in Slough. Thank you.

How interesting, you lot are the first who have made such a big fuss about anything at our new ground.

Who are you chris s ? Are you the voice of the Slough Supporters perchance - you seem to have a lot to say for your yourself!

btw, I spoke to several Slough supporters in our stand who were complimentary in their comments especially regarding the facility we have for disabled spectators.

For gods sake, i'm glad your back in Chelmsford, glad you've got a new ground, but i'm complaining about over the top stewarding that is not necessary for this level of football - and its not just me, a couple of chelmsford fans spoke about all the petty rules. This is non league.

Stop being so defensive, sort it out. Tell stewards to explain the reasons they are searching peoples bags. Let people eat chips in the clubhouse. Get rid of the black jacked security with ear pieces standing at the club door.

Right, where's my blazer...

Have you been to Margate and been subjected to their stewards - our official photgrapher had problems gaining admittance with his gear.

Not meaning to sound defensive. The ground is a council-owned facility - including the main stand...we own the clubhouse...so everything is under very close scrutiny and on some counts
would agree is quite officious. All aspects are under continous review and our club and the council are living and learning as they go.
Mind you, would reckon that any club's matchday arrangements would change if their crowds increased as dramatically as ours have done.
You may have noted we have no segregation policy
in the ground (or restrictions on away fans entering our clubhouse) unlike some other non-league clubs including a couple of our nearby rivals in the Conference.

Football clubs at this level need massive
assistance from local councils - luckily for us this has been forthcoming... along with a lot of financial assistance from our directors and also
supporters. Have been following your situation for several years and is very sad, imo, that you are still not playing in your home town.
