BORO boss Neil Redfearn is facing an injury headache ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Gravesend.

Captain Lee Fowler, defender Steve Baker, striker Mark Quayle and centrwe-back Paul Foot have all been ruled out of the game at Stonebridge Road.

Simon Weaver was taken off during Boro’s 1-1 draw with Woking last weekend with a head injury and is rated as 50/50, along withy keeper Ian Dunbavin, who injured he knee in training.

The ex-Barnsley midfielder Tom Baker is also ruled out with a groin strain.

Redfearn said: " Lee Fowler injured his hamstring in training so he will definitely not play, neither will Steve Baker who has a recurrence of his groin injury which may need operating on.

" Paul Foot has strained his stomach and Mark Quayle has damaged his groin so they will not be in the squad.

" All these have really hit us but we are hoping Weaver and Dunbavin will make it."

The influx of injury’s comes after Boro produced a spirited display in last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Woking.

Redfearn added: " I did not want to change the team but I will have to.

" On the plus side, we had a reserve game at Darlington earlier in the week which we won 2-0 and a few lads impressed in that one.

" We are a bit of short defensively so I might recall Jimmy Beadle from his loan at Bradford Park Avenue and we have to consider the goalkeeping situation.

" If Ian is definitely out then we will either have Gavin Kelly on the bench or try to bring someone in on loan."

Boro from: Walker, Dunbavin, Weaver, Beadle, Cook, Lyth, Nicholson, Ingram, Atkinson, Hughes, McClare, Redfearn, Pounder, Bertos, Coulson, McNiven, Hackworth

So if the BBC is right (and this is always a dangerous assumption to make), the problem of our lack of a more natural wide player on the left wing could be solved, albeit through the unfortunate occurrence of a player's injury.

Given the number of players who are doubtful, and my reluctance to ever believe BBC team news, I certainly won't be hazarding a guess on tomorrow's starting XI.

I once asked Andy where the BBc got it's information from and he told me that the clubs get a form from the Conference to fill in so that the Beeb have something to put on teletext/BBCi.

But, he said with a grin, I usually lie! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Gravesend v Scarborough

Gravesend manager Liam Daish will be without defender Danny Slatter who suffered a bruised leg in the 0-0 draw with Forest Green.

Jay Saunders, Jimmy Jackson (both back) and Charlie MacDonald (knee) have all returned to training but remain doubts.

Scarborough welcome back defender Denny Ingram following a ban while Michael Coulson will keep his place in attack.

Boss Neil Redfearn is unlikely to start himself, with Sean McClare, who performed well in midweek, preferred.

At least the wind has got up to help dry the pitch out. Let us pray we have managed to get a roller on it - it seemed very bumpy and lumpy last Friday, no fault on our groundstaff as they have no control over the weather.

Let us hope it warms up soon, drys the pitch out properly, gets the grass growing again and allows us to finish the season in style, playing a slick passing game on a flat, lush pitch
