Any further news on the injuries?

De Souza has been getting better with each game and was superb on Saturday. I was saying during the game that he was playing well and knowing our luck he would pick up an injury for the Stockport game. 30 seconds later and he was off. Me and my big gob!

While queuing for 'Railway Modellers Monthly', I glanced at the back page of The Observer.

I think that HB was pretending to be Cookie rather than Robbo ["No-one seriously thinks we can win. We just want to keep the score down". Hells teeth.] Anyway. It said that Naylor may have made a miraculous recovery and could feature. Crawshaw is likely to be available for selection and could feature. Our network of scouts hasn't managed to see them but they are rumoured to be big boogers so Brown is likely to feature at the expense of Ryan or Cory. Lots of featuring.

Usual BS.

Thank God for that. I thought for a moment we would be playing the 'hoof it and hope' long-ball game. Brownie will be his usual, cultured, pacy self, spreading the ball about and defending from the front, attacking from the back.

By the way, I was being sarcastic.

For all his faults, and he has plenty of those, Webbo usually does a half-decent job on the site, but something went wrong with the editing of the tapes of the latest Claire's Chitchat [it just gets better each week] in-depth interview with Cookie.

He said something like: 'We went to the long ball game too early' when referring to Saturday's performance against Chesham.

In the next paragraph, when referring to recent criticism of the long ball game [and I haven't heard any of that - I just love it. I think that it makes entertaining end-to-end football of the highest quality. None of this namby-pamby, one-touch, keep possession, pass it to one of your own players, boring rubbish for me, thanks all the same. Why waste time with 5 passes to travel 40 yards when it can be achieved with 1?] he said something like 'We don't encourage t'lads to play the long ball game. Sometimes they go out and forget what we have told them to do, [7 second memories etc.], and a long ball is what comes naturally.'

Perhaps Claire could clarify the confusion.

Tomorrow. I had a dream last night that we took them apart like the second half at Aylesbury. 3-0. Crawshaw, Challinor and Craig. I'm obviously the exception to that rubbish in the Stockport Express. I really and truly believe that we can win tomorrow. It's only Stockport County and there will only be 11 of them on the pitch.
