For those driving to Chelmsford on Saturday

I hope Peter Foster will not mind me quoting him on this - a message he has put on the Chelmsford City forum regarding car parking in and around the Stadium

Quote:
The Parking Enforcement Supervisor at Chelmsford Borough Council has informed the Club that over the course of the next few weeks they will be enforcing the existing parking restrictions in the streets around Melbourne Park on matchdays. This will involve, amongst other things, monitoring parking on yellow lines and unauthorised parking in areas reserved for residents. The supervisor has informed me in addition that this will be an observation exercise to ascertain the adequacy of the existing restrictions. I gather that should the Council feel, following their observations, that local residents are being unduly inconvenienced on matchdays that consideration will be given to the introduction of additional restrictions....

The club hopes that such additional restrictions will prove unnecessary and requests all those fans who travel to matches by car to continue to observe the existing parking restrictions.

The Council have made it clear that changes to the existing parking restrictions will only come into force after consultation with the club and other interested parties.

I would imagine there is parking at the ground, though given the club are averaging well over 1000 since the ground opened, it is safe to presume car parking space it at a premium.

Perhaps Kevin M (CCFC) could advise if/when he reads this post

The car park at MP accomodates around 200 cars on a first come first served basis. As long as you arrive by around 2pm you should get in. And we'll have Greene King IPA on handpump and Liverpool v man City on the 100" screen in the new clubhouse.

The pitch is very sandy because it's new so the rain should do it good - up to a point. Forecast from here on in is dry, windy and cold.

What Peter means is that the ball doesn't bounce much...if at all...
