Harrowing Performance !

Last night saw our best performance this season. 2-1 wasn't even close to a justifiable scoreline. Considering the conditions; we knocked the ball around in fine style. Unfortunately for HB they didn't know which way to turn.

 

Determination, Fight, Commitment are all words I would use to describe our performance. This should have (and rightly so) boosted our confidence levels. Every individual played his part from D.Potter through to L.Boylan.

 

Whatever J.King / G.Pennyfather did was a winning formula.

Yes the best performance that I,ve seen this year,a complete difference to Saturdays game,could this team be gelling at last?A good debut from Mark Brennan and for the first time this season we had a midfield=HAPPINESS

I missed the game in which it was quoted we had refound our passion and craft but did see Saturdays game against Purfleet

was the difference us or Purfleet??

back to usual unfortunatly.. spells of really good football, but not for long enough..and when it came to digging in the defence was fragile again.. story of the season so far.. that was a crunch game for me and i really thought we had turned the corner..if the shots win their game in hand then we are getting dangerously close to 'rebuilding for next season' stage..

still, on the bright side its still very congested at the top..if we can get within 9 points by xmas then its still an outside possibility..trouble is we have had 3 great chances to close up already this season..from looking for an unbeaten run we now need a run of wins

I felt that the sub's came on too late, especially Parmenter who came on for a tired Jones. You could see his legs were starting to wobble, especially as that greasy surface got a bit boggy down the left as the game wore on, I know it was starting to get foggy but surely the bench could see he was blowing out his backside ?? I just felt if Parmenter had been given a bit longer he might have forced an opening as the right-back for Purfleet was starting to fade a little too. Gregory battled hard again though.

I think it was wrong to pick Jones in the first place,I dont think he has done enough in any game he has played to warrant being picked in a starting lineup.He never lookes fit enough and never shows the same kind of fight and passion as the others in the team, i would rather have seen Benno in the side !

Also why wasnt Danny Potter playing? I must agree with Matts

comment in his player ratings that Ash doesnt command his area and this in turn causes panic in the defence which doesnt help when youve got the likes of Linger and Keeling running at you.I still dont think we will be consistent until we get a settled lineup that has played a few games together,we have now played 32 games this season including friendlies and i dont think we have started with the same team twice.
