Seems I will have to keep it in the forefront of things.Last nights performance isnt a big help but that 4 figure attendance is still the target.I wont let this rest until we achieve that target.Please keep your ideas coming in, if & when you think of them.

There are enough local lads playing outside the area, Dover have at least one quality player in their reserve team who should be at margate now.

Heard good things about Karl Barron, think he's from Margate. Supposed to have scored loads for their reserves and under 18 teams.

How about the club sponsoring a tournament for local primary/secondary schools? Possibly with the finals being held at H.D.P. Two fold bonuses as far as I can see, brings the club to school kids attention and if finals day can be played at the club, will also bring families to the club where we can push the ground/facilities. Also my daughter has just started playing touch rugby at school, so the school arranged for a training session at the Thanet Wanderers ground. Maybe this is also a possibility for school football teams, if any coaching staff would be available.

A lot of posters still outstanding & available for collection. Can you get just one or two displayed near your home,shop,local pub etc. PM Alan(taffy) with your address and delivery will be made. We need to get ALL these posters up around the island if we can as soon as we can.If you havent ordered one or more please do so now.Just a couple on your behalf will go a long long way to helping the club reach that magical 1000 mark attendance again. Order one two or better still MORE and become a large part of the recovery of supporters to Hartsdown park.

How about putting an advert for the match on the back of a parked van? If this was done on a big scale there could be a van on all exits major exits from Margate particularly where there is a lot of traffic. Victoria traffic lights for example. Sitting in a parking space for as long as possible with a banner on the back would attract attention. On a small scale how about using one van for this with something showing MARGATE FC - SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL TEAM if banners for individual games would be too expensive. Something the MISA funding could be used for?

 

Id say again that free school tickets is a must to attract young fans again. We are benefitting from the success we have had and now have quite a good young support base but need the next generation to know about MFC before they get the lure of the Premiership.

Another idea. Thick & fast this evening. How about doing leaflets and delivering them all over Thanet? How many members of the MISA are there? Surely if all the members were willing to help out plus a few others then we would have more than enough pairs of hands to cover a lot of addresses. Maybe 1 leaflet knocked up for the remaining games this season including admission prices and a couple of pics of the ground. And in the summer about a week before the new season a complete fixture list for next season to be delivered. Hopefully this could become an annual or bi annual thing to remind Thanet folk of the fixtures. How often do we hear the I didn't know it was on excuse? No longer!

 

A lot of money for printing you might think. If we all helped out surely we could make a big difference. It's got to be worth the effort.
