Some clubs in certain divisions seem to be able to cut prices on certain occasions so it seems that unless this league is different from the others I cannot see why a one off reduction at least, couldnt be offered. However I have brought this up on a previous occasion and was told by the club that my suggestion was insulting to them, so there you go.How on earthe a suggestion of this kind could be classed as an insult is beyond me.It dosent even come close to one in my opinion.I felt at the time & still do believe that a suggestion of that nature was by no means anything of the sort and was made in good faith. To me it was merely a suggestion to further encourage others to attend and of course at the time of suggestion to show the value that the club should/must surely have for its loyal supporters whilst things were not running so smoothly, bearing in mind the difficulties those supporters have endured over the past few years.A one off would do absolutely no harm i.m.o. and as I say unless the league stipulate that no bending of prices can be made I actually feel it would be a massive thank you & a terrific encouragement for others to attend again or even for the first time.It would certainly be a very good gesture by the club to be seen to be making a one off move of this nature.Coverage of such a move would undoubtedly get media attention I would have thought.
However in answer to your question in the first instance I am really not in the know I am afraid as to the ins & outs of such entrance rules and regulations.

I think its an excellent idea the added media attention and a boost to crowd numbers would be really good. Some people could be tempted for the 1st time to HDP and become regulars.
As ive said time and again MFC has huge potential.

Out of interest i have just done a quick calculation of the local population of the census site. Take sandwich, Deal, Thanet, Canterbury, Herne bay and whitstable we have a catchment of around 320,000 people. Surley we can attract a few from that number.

320,000 people and 40 miles from the nearest league club means Margate have unique potential to climb the leagues.
Make no mistake MFC should be well above conference level.
Potentially bigger than Msboro,Bburn,Wigan etc not just poxy Torquay,Rushden,Forest Green etc.

I know little more than you Alex when it comes to the finances of MFC. If we take the rumoured cost of players, management, Ground staff etc, etc then do a calculation it adds up to a lot of money. This season and perhaps next, until(positive note)the Gate are fully into the completed development, with franchises in place/operating. The club will need every penny of the amount we give them both through the turnstiles and through Misa to survive.

Perhaps the Insult that "Cookie" refers to was felt by the directors who had over the last few years unquestioningly put in Hundreds of thousands of pounds(please correct me if i am wrong 8oo,ooo) out of there own pockets to keep the team in place for us the supporters to cheer, and to bring the team home to Hartsdown( do not forget the hundreds of thousands this as cost. Also Alex do not forget the Club are paying back the monies owed to the creditors through the CVA in full, and not as many at pennies in the pound(or as highlighted in today's local Ref: Eu Jet.

As i said i know no more than you. Most of what i have said as been said before on this forum.

Lets look forward to 3 points tonight and 3 points on Tuesday. Upwards and Onwards together, not divided.

We now have other leaflets to give out on Tuesday afternoon(misa forms,GG Lottery, so all in all quite a few leaflets in total to dish out.Am still expecting to do all this in just the one hour.Blueblood & I will be there but a few more would be helpful(if you are at a loose end and not at work etc)(3pm till 4pm.) Remember to bring your colours in whatever shape or form.I am not assuming that just because its AFC we will get the thousand & this effort may not bring in too many others but it is hoped it will. If it can entice just another 20 or 30 to the game it could have a knock-on effect for future games. Please if you can spare that 1 hour, again, please join us.Outside the Nationwide Building society, top half of the high street. Thanks again.

I mentioned it to KP last year (I think) about having some players and a coach go round local schools. This would promote kids coming to see the club. And with kids may come their dad, grandads etc. I know ordinary supporters cant do anything about it but I think misa could put it forward.

Posters would be great becuase I often have people saying to me are Margate at home this week. We have hardly any Publicity

I very much doubt the players would be able to make it Matt,as good an idea as it is. We cant even get them to a fans meeting let alone to visit schools. It is something that would go down well but I cant see it happening. Not becaue they wouldnt want to but because most of them live away from the area.As for posters to schools that may well come into force soon.Someone needs to have a word or two with a few influential people about it first.

Be good if the club did sign local players. Watched Ramsgate twice recently Ollie Schulz looked a really good player and there were a few others as well..

I think the idea of going into the schools is a really good one.

Doubt those over the other side of the island could ask for the same. Would be a "miracle" for them to get a thousand on a regular basis.Just having a "fun" dig Ramsgate fans. No need to get too narked. All two of you!! l.o.l.
