Coffin ender is exactly right. I don't think we averaged that when we won the Southern Division in our first promotion season with CK, albeit with some high attendances at the end of that season. However where do those other supporters go? We had nearly 1300 for the first match and Maldon hardly bought anybody. That means there are another 600 floating supporters out there somewhere who need to be encouraged back. I don't know what the real answer is though, all the suggestions have been good and worth a try. It may be that most of them want to watch football in the warm sunshine. I think it will increase if we continue to go unbeaten however, as a lot of those fans are very fickle. Look back before the CK era though and 250 was the norm and we are at the same place now in the pyramid.

AFC WIMBLEDON are aready doing a stall type thing in their high street & they already get over 2000 a game. So if they are not sitting back and accepting their figures and are willing and wanting to encourage EVEN more to their games the I think we should be trying harder too. There ARE more out there and we just HAVE to try & entice them back again. It is after all for our benefit at the end of it all.It only takes a few people to want help and actually DO something. After that things will escalate. Its just getting it started that seems to be the problem. We need a good plan of action and some volunteers to enable that action.I for one am offering my services to start with. When I say I will do something I generally do so all we need now are some more serious volunteers to get this off the ground. You never know it could even turn out to be great fun at the same time.

I think we should try and get cheerleaders for half-time entertainment. Do what Tottenham do with their sponsers have a penalty shoot-out competition and win a holiday, in our case win a sign made by active. Sign a celebrity before we play Wimbledon and Windsor to get Sky coverage. Advertise the club on KMFM as a lot of workplaces listen to KMFM. I think one week we should try get us lot (margate choir) on Soccer AM to sit in the Luther Blisset stand. Or another good idea is to by word of mouth.

How about putting certain members of the local authority in stocks.we could charge a pound for every bucket of cold water we can get people to throw over them, instead of them over us.

Out of interest i have just done a quick calculation of the local population of the census site. Take sandwich, Deal, Thanet, Canterbury, Herne bay and whitstable we have a catchment of around 320,000 people. Surley we can attract a few from that number.

I may be wrong Alex but I seem to remember that at the start of the season Margate were saying that they set the Gate prices at the minimum the league allowed. I may be wrong in this but I have been led to believe that all leagues set a minimum price.

I agree and as I said I may be wrong but I'm sure that is the rule. If there is anyone out there who knows for certain please could they let me know.

Some clubs in certain divisions seem to be able to cut prices on certain occasions so it seems that unless this league is different from the others I cannot see why a one off reduction at least, couldnt be offered. However I have brought this up on a previous occasion and was told by the club that my suggestion was insulting to them, so there you go.How on earthe a suggestion of this kind could be classed as an insult is beyond me.It dosent even come close to one in my opinion.I felt at the time & still do believe that a suggestion of that nature was by no means anything of the sort and was made in good faith. To me it was merely a suggestion to further encourage others to attend and of course at the time of suggestion to show the value that the club should/must surely have for its loyal supporters whilst things were not running so smoothly, bearing in mind the difficulties those supporters have endured over the past few years.A one off would do absolutely no harm i.m.o. and as I say unless the league stipulate that no bending of prices can be made I actually feel it would be a massive thank you & a terrific encouragement for others to attend again or even for the first time.It would certainly be a very good gesture by the club to be seen to be making a one off move of this nature.Coverage of such a move would undoubtedly get media attention I would have thought.

However in answer to your question in the first instance I am really not in the know I am afraid as to the ins & outs of such entrance rules and regulations.

I am shocked and disgusted with the club, we have had to travel to different parts of Kent to watch our team play there home games in 3 different stadiums in the last 3 seasons and not one of those stadiums is HDP its self. I cant see how it is insulting as more people will come and watch as it is cheaper, do they not know Thanet is one of the poorest areas in the country, therefore the club will not lose out on money as the attendance could raise by about £200. That would be an extra £2000 that the club would be making once they have entered the ground and bought drinks, programmes and stuff. I will let you (Margate football club) to do the rest of the thinking, but failing to reduce the entry prices for at least one game would be insulting to the fans who have followed the club through its hardest times. Use your brains MFC
