telephone conversation with Mr Borg

I received a phone call this morning from George about yesterdays events.

1. He apologised to me re the hand gesture and said to pass this on to all the other gate fans which i am doing now.

2. He also said it was good to see such loyal fans giving there all to the team and to him for 90 mins.

3. George is also putting in a column in this saturdays home game at Braintree regarding the laugh we had during saturdays game in the programme.

George is a down to earth guy as i found out this morning and i wished him and Braintree fc all the best for the future and he also wished MFC the best of luck as well, there was never a mention of charges being brought against me by George at anytime.Thankyou George for the call and i hope this puts an end to anyanimosity there may have been <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" />

Fair play to him and I enjoyed the events yesterday. Its nice to see a manager that cares so much about the game and as others have said we have too few of these type of characters. As much as I have criticised I have calmed down and on reflection he is doing exactly what I would in his position. Good man!

Well done GW for having the decency to change your mind about him.However lets not forget that in the past(& probably again in the future)he has been his own worst enemy and has often been a twat.However,I am with you when you say that he is passionate about football & if he can cool down just a little then maybe his reputation can be reversed.However,because of his past I doubt that will ever happen now no matter how much of a change may be made.

Still it was good of him to phone Phil and say the things he did.Maybe from this point on he will get more friends than he seems to have enemies.

It was a good laugh yesterday nevertheless and I am glad that he took it all as just that,a bit of fun.

If he's your manager you love him. If he's managing against you you hate the bloke. That's the way football works and he's a top bloke for picking up the phone. Obviously playing on his mind a bit and to be honest we were probably a bit harsh on him but it was a great laugh.
