An Oxymoron contains two words - e.g. Windsor Victory.

If posting in a personal capacity, it does not seem logical to post under the heading 'Windsor Sec' because it implies you are posting as a representative of the club, rather than as a supporter, particularly with the club badge as your avatar.

Mayor Livingstone was speaking personally when he gave his Nazi jibe to that reporter, but because of his position and title he brought his office into disrepute. If your comments are purely personal and not representative of the club then I think you would do well to make this clear.

BFR i think it was clear it wasn't a statement from the club. Stop trying to kick up a fuss. Write to the papers and complain about the council or whatever it is your type do these days.

This Statement was from Woody Personaly and not from the club just to clear up any confusion as i have WEFC in my name.

'Leave negotiations to the people who actually run the clubs' written by somebody who is involved with the running of one of the clubs involved, i.e. the Club Secretary.

Yes Woody, clear as mud!

Your post however is clearly of a personal notice, as I do not believe Peter Simpson allows the club midget to get involved with running the club.

The rent thing is beginning to wind me up now. I think both sides need to just sort it out with an official statement next season if we are at Stag Meadow (and if- as Mystic Meg Anonymous states) We are going to the flood plains of York road so be it. All i can say is that, althought the figure does seem high especially considering the income we are able to gain from the situation, if it wasnt for W&E we would have folded, so i think everyone just needs to stop bitching about the sitauation- if slough had a ground- lol- and we were Landlords i personally would hope we would milk them for every penny they had.

Most sensible people need not be wound up by a matter that is only an issue because partially-informed people have decided to make comments on it on an unregulated message board unconnected with the management of the parties involved. The fact is that both WEFC and MUFC have a commodity that STFC does not have but needs in order to continue in existence. The price STFC agrees to pay for that commodity is entirely a matter for STFC or it's benefactor. It can always choose to say no to any landlord after all.

It should not be forgotten that Stag Meadow will be a football ground for the foreseeable future, but York Road will not be. MUFC is now controlled by a group dedicated to leveraging it's investment in the club by the (non-football) redevelopment of York Road. Stag Meadow is Crown land expressly leased for use as a football ground. (It's why WEFC does not attract shady property developers to its board, and why WEFC will survive regardless of its playing level and attendance.) Moving from Stag Meadow may (or may not) be cheaper or provide smoother turf, but it will increase uncertainty for STFC because of the short term insecurity of York Road. It is understandable that partisan STFC followers resent dependacy on WEFC, but it is a fact of life in the present history of the clubs.

It seems to me that Stag Meadow offers a degree of confidence for the medium future of STFC that certainly York Road cannot offer, providing of course, that STFC's benefactor is willing to provide the finance. If the finance is not forthcoming, then the identity of the landlord is not the issue.

I hate to use the sinking ship analogy, but our team in Slough has already sunk once, and has been salvaged only as a partially floating hulk. If it needs anything, it is a safe and secure harbour to effect further repairs. I see Stag Meadow as a safer harbour than York Road.

Marcus, a statement was issued by both clubs at the start of this season saying that the rent issue had been resolved. Yet still everyone chucks in their two penneth. Very, very few people know the exact truth.

Slough offer something to both Maidenhead and Windsor and any other potential landlord - regular income over the bar on days when the ground and facilities would otherwise be unsued. This is of course in addition to the rental income under any agreement. This is hugely beneficial to the Landlord whether they are prepared to admit it or not.

Windsor I am sure would be fine without Slough - but by how much would the playing budget be reduced? Historically Windsor's playing budgets have been low - to enable them to manage on their sparse crowds.

Reportedly Windsor have a significant playing budget for this current season. Money well spent.

Just think, with a smaller budget we might be bottom of the league!
