Mud Bath

Slough pay £25,000 a year and not a penny is spent on the pitch or ground.

The pitch was mud today and players were slipping all the time which could have lead to injuries.

Windsor have had £75,000 over the last 3 years and the is still no cover at either end, the pitch is the worst in the league.

Slough supporters carry out maintenace on the ground and had the barriers installed at the park end.

Windsor just waste the money on the likes of Ralf Little.

No wonder Martyn Deaner begrudges coughing up the money each season when as a customer he gets so little for his money!

Whats going to happen if you go down and if Slough find another ground? - what income will you have with lower gates and no £25,000?

Are the other two teams paying £25,000 to use the pitch? and lets not forget Windsor also gets all the income from the burger stand and the bar at slough games!!!

When you pay that much you expect a decent level of pitch in return - but we get a cr*p pitch with cr*p terraces with limited cover.

Where would windsor have been without all this income over the last 3 years?

Why do you think that those reading this thread care or can do anything about it? If STFC want to stipulate pitch quality to their landlords then may I suggest they do it before agreeing terms rather than 7 months into a season?

If you don't like being tenants then GET YOUR OWN PITCH.

the other two teams are the two reserve sides so if you want to get a better pitch take the ressies down the local park.

we can't do anything about the pitch and as a windsor fan ive been forced to get uded to it.

so you need to get used to it as well and stop moaning.

Interesting points on this thread. Remembering back, wasn't the reason that the rent money wasn't/couldn't be spent on improving the stadium because it was being spent on the pitch?

Pictures were taken of it before the match yesterday for review by both clubs as for the rent money being given to Windsor for the use of their pitch, it's clearly not being worked on.

Every close season a major amount of money is spent on the pitch to try and make it last for as long as possible. Also through out the season money is also spent to TRY and keep the pitch at a reasonable level. It was doing very well until about a month ago when the bad weather started and a few extra games were scheduled in.

If the pitch was in a condition to lead to injuries then moan at the referee and not WEFC. It is not their fault if the referee deams a pitch playable when in your eyes it isn't.

Let's try and be serious for a moment. I have already explained about the pitch but let's look at what £25,000 a season really gets you. If you have a wage bill of say £2,000 a week (and I honestly don't know what ours is) that is a total of £72,000 a season. Now the £25,000 for rent combined with the small gates we get barely covers that let alone doing any work around the ground.

Slough supporter's have done a few odd jobs around the ground, for which they have been thanked. Clubs at this level only survive through the help and support of people who are willing to do these type of things without payment. As for the barriers, we didn't ask for them, you had to put them up.

Wouldn't exactly call it wasting money. Ralf has put in some comendible performances since he arrived. Granted, against Slough he didn't have a great game but he has got a lot better.

I'd say he gets off extremely lucky each season when he waits until each season is practically over before handing over any money and leaves it to the supporters to sort out.

IMHO I think it would do use good. Without Slough we can get back into the Suburban League and build an even better reserve team to bring in better youngsters which cost less and give more.

But, my question to you is what's going to happen if we no to another season and you have no ground?????

What do you think we've been trying to do for the past several years?

Take 100 lines: Must try harder.

The pitch was not used on Thursday, but due to an extreme amount of water on the pitch from the rain on Thursday and Friday it was impossible to get any work done to roll the pitch.

If you had looked at the lines that had been put down you will have seen the tyre marks from the whitening machine. Nosw think of the weight of that and then think of the weight of the roller and the unit needed to pull it.

StainesRebel: Get your man who pays the bill to take it up with our man who agreed the deal for you mob to play on OUR pitch.

As for your £25K per year. We couldnt really do much worse without it, on the pitch. Maybe we should try that option though.

We'll leave a yellow pages in the clubhouse for you..."football stadia for hire" will be a pretty small section though.

Well its better than Stamford Bridge "Rice Field" and they have more than enough funds to sort it out, To many games thats all is the problem, but Capital league say it must be an enclosed ground not just a park pitch. otherwise have your ressies play at "the Polish Club"
