Different people, different opinions, same game. Nuff said on that.

 

There was two or three times when the final ball was poor and we would have been in a 1-on-1. To me that says it could have been better. When you play the top sides you need to force the chances and we didn't create enough clear cut chances. So to me it was not a great performance. Can't fault the effort of the players though who ran themselves into the ground and with that same level we would beat most sides in this league. Other teams would have crumbled. Suppose thats a compliment to your work ethic.

As i have said we were not quite on top of our game today but more often than not we are ,and that is more often than any other team in the league at present and that is why we are TOP OF THE LEAGUE for now.

[color:"blue"]George Borg is a larger-than-life character & is an asset to his Club. It's part of his game to wind up the opposition, which he's very good at. Of course he is hated by the opposition fans, but he he is revered by the fans of his own team. If he was OUR MANAGER we'd regard him as a legend.

From the feedback of PhilD he acknowledges that the hate he generates is just part of his act & he takes it in good part. Remember at the end of the game he applauded the 'Gate fans.

There are not enough characters like George in football, which is a shame.

I bit today and confronted borg, at the end of the day he done his job. Because his team couldnt nonleague is great because we can get up and personal. No harm came of it and wouldnt, to the whingeing Braintree fan's if we were top you would look at gates of a thousand plus. Your manager has not seen passion like today at your place. Bet Borg is picking up a fair few bob along with a lot of those players. Top of the league and look at your attendances. Tinpot club. How long before the cash runs dry? Its just a matter of time. Didn't your chairman have a problem at St Albans? I dont think they like him much. Ouch.

Be careful Alex, their chairman posts on the fans focus forums I believe. Don't think St Albans are happy with him after he nearly took them down though! When will that happen to Braintree?? Enjoy while it lasts and we will enjoy passing you.

Gate Watcher you are talking crap I am afraid. Braintree are not a tin pot club - in fact they are one of the better and more stable ones in Essex. They have always had a fair following and in many ways are a similar club in status to us.

Now if you were talking about East Thurrock or similar clubs with rubbish facilities who are clearing payong above their means, then I would agree. But Braintree simply do not fall into that bracket.

As for Borg, well he along with our own CK has one of the best records in non league football in London and the South East. He is what he is - a passionate winner who sometimes goes over the top.

I used to go to games in Essex and stand behind the dugout just to watch him - great value!!

I was not there yesterday, but I have seen him many times and I suspect it is number 379 in the Borg incident book!! Like Phil above I once fell out with him, and shook his hand afterwards and it was all forgotten. Braintree are not stupid - when you hire Borg you get him warts and all - but generally you get a manager who will bring your club success.

I wonder why people are so quick to criticise sometimes.....

I am not crawling up to anyone - just being honest. I remember a great FA Trophy battle with Braintree a couple of years back. Two games where it was in doubt right to the end.

Some clubs deserve a bit of respect, that's all.

To be honest, I do not really see the point of this argument. Good game yesterday, I was relatively happy with a point - best of luck for the rest of the season.

We picked up a point away from home, you however dropped 2 home points.

You're top of the league (your'e having a larf) & we are near the relegation zone. We outplayed you where as your lot were floundering for most of the game. We scored first & conceded a sloppy goal near the end. Yes we drew but all in all I cant see where we are upset by it all. Dropping two points & conceding like that at that time was of course annoying but on form your lot should have beaten us,on paper. A draw before the game,to me,would have been a victory.So therefore we have more to crow about on yesterdays performance than you have and it is you who should feel bitter the more in dropping two points rather than us letting two go.

Anyway enough of this fooling around. I have better things to do. Been nice debating the game with you or should I say the result. TA TA
