Slough Town v Wealdstone: MATCH THREAD

Have to disagree Reading Rebel, as the lady boy lino looked like it was the first ever game of football he had ever been to, and that he had to take the lead from the ref.

Also that there was a penalty missed when Josias was triped when he was on a run into the box.

Praise must go to Leigh Mason for that goal as that was his first touch of the game.

Good 3 points which now puts us in a lot stronger position in the table with the chance of a middle if not top half finish.

The two or three burst of 'song' the Stones fans did put forward were about ten times louder than anything the home support mustered on the day. Even in the second half when we were attacking the end I was videoing from, the away support sounded louder than the home.

Very flat atmosphere considering the end to end nature of the game and the amount of people in attendance.

Excellent game and the continuing fighting and battling performances put in from our boys is hugely commendable. Great goals.

On the basis of that performance though the striker who stood out the most was Hodges. Unbelievable - leads the line superbly. Certain players in the Premiership could learn a thing or too from him.

Absolutely. Probably still not fully match fit yet he's in there for every tackle and chasing down every defender when other strikers with 20 goals in the bank might feel they've earned a few strolls round the park. Ian Hodges is an absolute legend for Slough Town.

The opportunity for Chopper's goal came from a Hodgey tackle that was 40/60, at best, against him. Performances like that when not even fit put him in the bracket of superhero, in my opinion. His shirt should have a number nine on the back and a big "S" on the front!

the guys a legend i must agree, i love watching him play for us, but sometimes i think we may rely on him too much, especially when you consider that no one else scores the number of goals that he does. we need to develop some other way to play because he cant play injured forever.
