Well done on the win (despite the cheating)! If we had organised ourselves that bit better we would have done the same as you and guessed the question from the title of the round would be name the 30 Carry on movies throughout the evening rather than in the short aloted time at the end. But that as they say is life. We wouldn't have won but we would have stayed in touch with your score more.

 

If you missed it you missed it it was an enjoyable evening with some lovely people to raise money for the town. Join in next time and see if you can beat the Horses Mouth. Well done to all the organisers. Thank goodness Happy isn't mad "man on the mike" lol

All I can say is that the magnificent trophy my table won last year is just out on loan for 12 months when we will return to snatch it back.

 

16 tables of experts could not stop the winners who were always favourites after they exposed their secret weapon! The young boy who answered nearly all of the questions should have been on Junior Mastermind!

 

Excellent quiz all round with the cherry on the top being the food supplied by Squadron Leader and her helpers.

 

Junior did her level best to sell two whole books of raffle tickets and ETFC must thank her for that(nearly 1000 tickets!).

 

The bar stewards coped with the rush during each of the rounds which deserves a vote of thanks.

 

Chancellor Southport was hard at it all night counting the numerous notes, coins and cheques whilst the quiz itself was ably presented by Eric, Steve, Tacco and Doddy.

 

Thanks to Lil' Dave for assisting with the setting up and clearing away afterwards.

 

All in all a superb evening was had by all.

 

As Arnie said. 'We'll be back!' or something like that.

Well done to all concerned. I understand from Soutpor that we have made £1480 clear profit for the club. The generosity of our supporters both in terms of time and money never ceases to amaze me. This is truly a great football club.

I smell the odour of sour grapes. Table 13 led from the start and never fell behind. Rounds on Carry on film and Kids programmes were always going to play into the lap of someone who spent more hours then most in front of the box.

But really the main reason we won was that we knew that Grolsch lager one year past its sell by date is God's Natural brain food. And at £1 per bottle we drunk plenty.
