Actually it hasn't been like that for at least 10 years now. It has a very good corrections and clarification section. Can't imagine there being such openness in, say, The Sun or the Daily Mail.

I find a more balanced intake of news is available by using the internet.

Well, I can't say I've ever bought The Guardian, but the online version has always seemed quite good.

I find that most people who slag off the Guardian never even read it. I'm no cringing wet liberal do-gooder either, anymore than I believe in bringing back the birch, hanging & compulsory castration for anyone speaking with an Eastern European accent. IMHO it's easily the best written of the daily newspapers on offer & its website is 1st class, with some really funny & offbeat sections, as per the Jimmy Bullard competition.
