Smoking will be banned in public places in summer 2007!

We are already taking legal advice.

 

Because alcohol is sold we have to abide by the local authority licensing regs.

 

HOWEVER. We are a private club in the strictest sense, with all the members making the rules and constitution. A 'straw-poll' indicates that over 75% of the members would NOT vote for a smoke free atmosphere. Our tame solicitor seems to think there is a very good case under the Human Rights Act.

 

In reply to the comment about an alleged smoke-haze, the club has three industrial extractors which probably make the interior cleaner than the exterior, taking into account diesel and petrol fumes on the outside.
