2-1 to St Albans - only 9 minutes played!!

I have a hunch that you haven't been amongst us long enough to recall the Route 1 stuff, that couldn't really be defined as champagne or Brazillian, on offer under the last few managers, Rob2.

As I have said to you before, Colin Lippiatt is showing promise! I was chatting to my Statto chum the other day and, statistically he is now our most successful manager, of any manager who has been manager for 5 or more games.

I expect that the Executive in charge of the Managers Hall of Fame in the boardroom is pleased that he wont have to keep changing the position of the photographs.

Don't get me wrong, I think our attacking football is breathtaking at times but I also think sometimes we can be a little bit too gung ho, as was the case just before half time last night. We came up in droves looking for the 4th goal and left just Lee Flynn back when they countered. If we had gone in at 3-1 and not conceded on the dot of half time, I believe we would have won last night. There are times when you need to contain and look after what you have.

Cambridge are definitely one of the better sides in this division so I am not unduly worried by the result. I also thought Tom and Ram both had excellent games. It was just a pity that it all went to waste with our defensive lapses on the night.

Onwards and upwards. Roll on Saturday and 3 points!

One of the reasons that Ben Lewis was my MotM on Saturday was his leadership of the back 4. And we kept our shape throughout. [And what a pedigree! Did I ever tell you you that I happened to be at Roots hall the day t'lad made his debut wearing The Mighty Shrimpers No 5 shirt? And he scored that day, too.]

Anyway, where was I? If we concede 4 goals, the man leading the back 4 has to look at his own game, and I imagine that he has.

Bring on the Welsh!

Spot on NOS Gung Ho tactics should of stopped when 3-1 up. i dont want to be to critical, as we are a very good side, and are a joy to watch. but last night a couple of players , wanted to get on the score sheet. when we were 3-1 up. simple passing went out the window, sorry but they got greedy, how many times did i see players in open space screaming for the simple pass, only to have to watch some one take on three players then lose it. i also thought cambrige were very good. we are a qality side, back to winning ways SATURDAY.
