I was considering leaving this one "in-house", but the more I look back at it, the funnier it gets.

James Redwood, our keeper had just been assasinated and lying face first in the dirt. The goal had been given.

"Warm up Smallsy.....quickly", came the call from the bench and off he went. As Redders was being stretchered of a 7 minutes later, the whole of the bench looked along the line to see where the great man was. He was nowhere to be found. The other 21 players had assumed their positions ready for Burnham to kick of again. But wait, where was the Burnham goal keeper.another 2 minutes passed "Here he is", came the call from a young spectator, as the majestic "Cat" came a-leaping, not from the touchline where he should have, but from the tunnel entrance. Not happy with the amount of time he had made everyone wait to restart the game, he then paused to take of his boots & put his shin pads on. The looks on the players faces was a picture.

Basically its works out the Rob Small had sat,all game, without his [****!!****] or shin pads at the ready.

After the game in the dressing room myself and Tim O'Reilly the club catain, very calmly asked Rob what had happened.

Rob answered in possibly one of the biggest hissy fits i have ever seen from a player had had just fu**ed up:

"Oh yeah that's right, blame me, its all my fault,ain't it.

At the time, i wasn't sure if I wanted to:

a) bounce him of every wall in the room

give him a cuddle and tell him it was all right

c)Pi** myself laughing because he knew he'd fu**ed up & was desperately trying to deflect the blame.
