I wouldn't say that was a bad idea! Maybe a midfielder from a league club who isn't get that many games at the mo.

Yeah, I agree, someone who's going to create a few chances for our front pair. At least a few more than we're creating at the moment. We should see if we can get someone from Southend or Colchester, you know, just because they're local.

Mitchell Cole only seems to play reserve team games and make sub appearances for Southend at the moment, if we could get him for a month and have him and Kilo on either wing we would look a lot more creative.

Its worth looking aroung for players from league clubs who need a game but i just dont think Jeff will do that.

Why not? We should establish strong links with clubs like Southend, especially if they go up this year.

I think it's worth keeping the option of a loan player open.

 

After Braniff and Pearson last season I would like to see a possible loan deal for a player till the end of the season - I'm not sure there is as much commitment on a months loan.

 

Perhaps loan deals and signings have given some of the other clubs the boost they needed whilst we are struggling a little.

 

Anyway - I'd like to see a couple of midfielders brought in. One a Stimmo style solid player and the other an attacking flair minded midfielder - we'll probably get a defender though <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Yeah, long-term is definately preferential to short-term. They're more likely to gel and bond with the rest of the squad. Also, if it goes well enough, there's always the chance of a signing at the end of it all.

I just mean that Jeff has been known to be stubborn and might think he will get the team to perform without having to ask other teams for a hand with loans.

 

The only other players we have had on loan before where up and coming young players who wanted a taste of first team football like Braniff, Mapes and that lad from West Ham who i cant remember the name of.

My brother was telling me last night that he was at Castle View school. Seems the Hammers have quite a number of players coming through their youth system. Hopefully they will keep hold of them this time. Perhaps they might want to join us for a while as they gain experience!

He left castle view about 3 or 4 years ago.Came back last year to present a sports awards evening.

why dont we ever looking into what local talent the big clubs have got and get them in there cant be much differnce in the standard of football between us and rusden
