I would have no problem with a small increase in admission charges, but i feel a 30% cut of bar money during our home games, could net us about £300-400 per game. That sort of extra money could be crucial in progressing as a club.

A hot food stall is a great idea, and would be a good money earner as well.

£1 per head on the gate money would also give us £300 per game.
Profit margin on food has to be 300%, but you need someone to do it every week !

Sorry to bring back the “finding our level” piece of the thread but I think AFC Wimbledon offer evidence of the increasing level of difficulty as teams progress up the pyramid. To an outsider they cruised through two levels before settling into a position slightly below the play-off positions in the Ryman Premier. They own their ground and have around 2,500 watching them which must provide significant levels of bar/food income. They probably also receive income when Kingstonian play (a situation I find bizarre, but anyway……………..)

Despite everything that Town do and provide – stands, pitch maintenance, pre and post match duties, etc – don’t Brimsdown still hold all the cards? Without them ETFC would struggle to have a ground in the borough of the required standard.

You may be right. The Committee members on this forum could answer, but I do not think this is the place for that type of detail to be aired.

neither Rome or the New Wembley Stadium were built in a day

Wish Wembley had have been built in a day it was so difficult to get a cementmixer of concrete delivered at Brimsdown when Wembley had them all tied-up.

I bet this will be a problem for the Olympic games preparation. Concurrent pouring of concrete for stadiums will cause problems and DELAYS to 2012 because if one stadium can stuff all other building projects in London just think what more than one stadium could do!

Excuse me for poking my nose in here , but someone once said to me when I first went to one of your games when I asked about hot food .

That Brimmo wouldnt let you sell food as they felt it would impact on the food on sale in their club house.

Having said that, there's not always food available or even a customer friendly atmosphere in their kitchen in the club house.

The simplest thing to do would be to do what we've done at PBTFC and that is to get a mobile one in, which if Brimmo wouldnt let you leave it parked on site is to have it able to be towed off site to a lock up in the local vicinity.

I know that doesnt cure the staffing problem but you do have the girls at the tea bar who I'm sure would be able to manage Burgers aswell as Tea's and Soups.

Interesting comment from a visitor to the Club.

I think I am right in saying that the facilities at Brimo closed some time ago.

I am sure someone will confirm the current position.

LS,
Are the bar takings in the periods quoted going to make THAT much difference to the running of the club.
Obviously any money is better than none, but I wonder how much we are talking about.
More money may be made by a small increase in admission charges ( let's face it - people paid £8 at Wood )
More money may be made by a small increase in people thro' the gate - why not have a couple of games that are "Kids Free" and give them a voucher to bring their Parents / Adult to a game where the Adult pays and the kids are free, then another voucher for a free programme etc etc
We need to get more people in the ground rather than the Bar.
In the ground they will by stuff in the shop or some refreshments.
Finally - food is a good earner - why not have hot food on sale ? Let's face it, how many of us by a burger at away grounds ?

Funny you should mention Hot Food. If all goes according to plan we should have a Hot Food Outlet inside the ground for this coming Saturday.

They will be selling all the usual, Burger, Bacon Rolls Chips etc.

All I would ask is that you do not desert our own "JETS HANGAR" Tea Bar. We will still be open and selling all the usual Teas, Coffees, Soups, Bovril, Cold Drinks, Crisps, Choc Bars & the Famous Bread Pudding. Without the income from this the "JETS" would not be able to survive, nor would we be able to treat Visiting Officials the way we do in the Board Room.

In fact what could Brimmo do if you converted that container which used to be the shop into a Food outlet ?

Providing you complied with all the current planning legislation ( although that might be a stumbling block thinking about it) that's why PBTFC went for a mobile because the planners would only accept it if it could be removed from site after every game . ( but there are also ways around that )

There are ways around most things it just takes combined effort amongst an organised team of volunteers .

The container you are talking about is hopefully going to be our New "JETS HANGAR TEA BAR" Next Season. Thats as long as we can get it converted in time.

That's good news as long as the Club earn money from the takings.
I assume it is a rent-a-burger outsider style business arrangement.( u no what I mean )

As far as I know they are on a months trial to see how we get on. Yes it is a rent-a-burger type of thingy. They are the same Company that supply St Albans City FC. As far as making any money from it, yes we will get a share of the profits.

Lets see how it goes.

Yeah wasn't that at a cup match against St Albans in your FA Trophy game ?

So Brimmo made money out of the food sales generated by one of your matches probably because they didnt want all those floods of away supporters in their club house passing in front of the Screen on their way to the "Kitchen / Food" area .

The Kitchen inside the bar has been shut down, that's why we have to make other arrangements.

As i've said before. Its time to play hard-ball with Brimsdown. Its time to improve our side of the deal.

Firstly .How tight is our ten year contract.can Brinmsdown terminate it? Have we agreed to pay a certain amount each season for those ten years??...etc. Our main option may be to go for a percentage of bar money on matchdays. Say 30% of profits between 1pm-7pm on home matchday saturdays, and 30% of profits between 6.30pm-10.30pm on matchday tuesdays.

Of course Brimo won't be too keen, but a word in their shell-likes indicating that the fans are looking for another venue to drink at on matchdays (to improve funding for the club), may make them sit up and take notice. Now they wouldn't want to get into dispute with Towns fans and have a boycott of the bar on their hands, would they.
You keep talking like that and you might end up with an eviction notice...Remember they have been very generous in allowing you to start up there. Upsetting them could be risky.
