Except that is Brian that gave away the Free kick that led to the Goal.

What was he doing back there making ill judged and Badly timed tackles he didnt need to ?

This is part of the problem the lack of discipline as to who should be doing what on the pitch.

Aswell as being too innefective at the front and not being able to strike the ball with enough power to beat the opposition keeper in a 1 on 1 <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/argue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/argue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/argue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/argue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/argue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/argue.gif" alt="" />

I thought we were a bit unlucky today. It seemed every loose ball fell to a Wood player, and every time one of their players stuck a toe out at a passing ball, it landed right for them. But then, to a certain extent you make your own luck and Wood are top for a reason. I liked their 2 and I thought their 4 was pretty good at getting in the way of passes.
My main complaint about the ref was his pedantic nature. Calling for free kicks to be moved 2 feet and suchlike. Slowed up the game.

And I'm not entirely convinced we were offside at one point late in the game. It was a close call whichever way it was.

You saw a different game to me.

Wood got to every loose ball in defence cause they were faster and read the game better than our forwards. They were not so hot in attack where our defence was as good as theirs if not better. Their passing game was better than ours but on occasions their defence/midfield was caught in possession. They played professionally and did not argue with the ref. As for blaming Brian for the goal - that is going too far Diver. The man put himself about today and contributed as much as most of the other players in Midfield.

The free kick that led to the goal was for an alleged hand ball by Steve Valandia.

Mind you as for the rest of your summing up..... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/whistling.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/whistling.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/whistling.gif" alt="" />

'The free kick that led to the goal was for an alleged hand ball by Steve Valandia'

From where I was standing, it was purely accidental. No way he could avoid the ball-and I'm not at all sure it did hit his arm.

I was particularly impressed with the way the ref and linesmen missed Cooper's hands around Steve's throat half way through the second half. Pure refereeing class!

Sod off back to the ESL forum Coup!!! The ref was cr*p for both sides as was the linos. All in all a very enjoyable game of football and a draw would have been the fairest result.

What was all the easy easy easy from the Wood supporters at the end? We didn't hear from them throughout the game and it certainly wasn't easy!

The Wood board are a bunch of rip off merchants charging £8 for adults and £5 for kids. I also heard that one supporter was charged £9 in the bar for three scotches!

Exactly what I said at 6.43pm yesterday.

Let's be honest here. The team had to battle but never really made their defence work hard until Smith came on and started to run at their defence. Long high balls to 'giants' will never work unless they make a terrible hash of things. Play the ball on the ground, run at the defenders, and scare the living daylights out of them by playing to our strength rather than theirs.

I still believe the referee had an indifferent game. Why book Rudi so early in the game when he let countless number of fouls go which were against our players?

Steph, you obviously read a different post to the one I wrote. You've basically said the exact same as me but in a different way.

It is a rip off over at borehamwood and I totally agree with brunob about declaring a fixed admission. The bar is expensive and £2 for a programme is over the top.

Is a programme £2 or free with admission, or both? If you want a programme, then £8 is only a rounidng up above what most clubs charge for the combination. But if its still £8 once all of the programmes have sold out, or of you don't want one in the first place, that's a rip off that I'm not sure would stand up to Trading Standards scrutiny. I wonder if its been tested or if the SFL has a view?

TopGun-what did the combination of admission and programme cost at Ware for the Boxing Day game? My memory is £8.50 [ie £7+£1.50]

I do not think that BW were lucky - they were better than us! That is the disagreement. I said right from the off that BW were the best team I have seen this season. They played as a unit and knew what their jobs were. I have to agree with Andy on his analysis of the game which differs from yours.

Had Velendia/Paul/and Hammett finished their chances in the second half (as they should have done).Would Boreham Wood still have been the better team in your opinion??

Out team as a unit created better chances to score than Boreham Woods did.It was just that our poor finishing and lack of belief in the final third cost us dearly again.

In higher leagues most clubs grade all their home matches, A and B or A, B and C, with different admission prices for each grade. Personally I don't like this, but at least it is all decided and declared at the start of the season, so if you didn't want to pay an extra one pound to watch your team then you can decide to stay at home.
