The Kent Senior Cup and our Programme

As it seems unlikely that our KSC results will ever appear within the "Stats & Facts" grid within our programme (sorry, Matchday Magazine), are there any plans to list them in a different column? The Sittingbourne match result has not featured in our Magazine. For all we know it may never have taken place. Any comments from the Editor?

The reason that the games have not appeared in the facts and stats page in the matchday magazine because they are not classed as first team fixtures, but reserve team fixtures. I will endeavour to find a suitable spot for the results in the programme.

So if it was a reserve team game how comes I was charge £8.00 to get in for that match but only £2.00 the previous wednesday to get in to the Dulwich Hamlet match? Could inflation push prices up six pounds in five days?

At the start of this season the Football Association made the decision to designate all County Cup Competitions as reserve team fixtures for Conference National clubs.

I'm basically just having a laugh with FB but now that official club spokesman David Holden is on the case I feel I should elaborate a little. We fans will still regard it as a first team game, on the website it is listed as a first team game so why not in the programme? That’s all we asked.

Right but it's still a first team game, it just takes less importance than those other competitions that we play in. If it is a reserve team why were not charged reserve team prices?

What does it matter how the FA regard the competition, to us its first team that's all that counts.

If the club regards it's importance as non existant then why charge as £8.00?

Also does anyone know what other or how many Conference National teams are in their County Cups?

Yes but which official body Stu?

The FA say that it's status is a reserve team match, which basically means you can't use it to soak up a suspension.

The KCFA say that it's a first team match and we must treat as such for admission etc.

All the stats for earlier years have included KSC matches in the first team stats so I am continuing to do so this season. However at the end of the year, some thought will have to be given as to the real status of these matches.

It matters in terms of how much we charge. If the FA said it was a first team fixture for us, we would have had to charge our normal first team price of 12 quid.

Because we have to charge a price that is acceptable to our opponents. I suppose in theory we could have charged £2 but I doubt if Dover would have been very happy with that.

I would imagine all Conf clubs play in their County Cup, even the proper ones

Clearly then, there's only one arbiter in the matter. Who'd win in a fight? My money's on the FA spilling a pint over the KCFA's head, smashing it in the goolies and running off with its bird...

Have we had any word from FIFA yet on the matter?
