If any of you were wondering where he was last night well he was at Bisham Abbey representing England against Finland in the friendly Futsal match against Finland. They play again today at 17.00

 

By the way England lost 7-3.

Lets hope he is fit enough to loin the others then on Satyrday.He should be up to it.

We dont want us to lose Sesay either.I am bewildered that he isnt getting games.He has never let us down,in whatever position he has played in though mostly given the full backs role.I still maintain he is a "magic formular" for our team.Given the opportunity again, but in midfield. We are wasting his talents by not having him play a part in games & having him sit on the bench. Considering he HASNT let us down I would think he feels quite aggrieved at being left out all the time. Think I am wasting my breath oN this one though somehow.

agree totally about sessay he must be getting really peed off.he is a talent and even if he lacks stamina surely he should be given the last half hour.saturday we were crying out for change in the second half he would have fitted into yigas place nicely.and surely should have had a game last night.he will just stagnate on the bench .paul abbott comes to mind found himself in a similar position hes gone on to be a very good player.we must not let this talent get away

Sesay is a talent but should only be used up front in the Bertie role and we could drop Bertie back and take off Yiga or Hilaire when they have ran themselves into the ground.

Up front,midfield. Dosent matter really just so long as he's running at that defence and scaring the life out of them with his direct approach.

Problem is that there are only 11 places, and in midfield we need battlers.

Unless we go 4-4-2 ,and Sesay plays wide in a 4 man midfield, i cant see how he can command a place.

Rate the player, but i'm with CK on this one.

 

I do agree with SS about Paul Abbot though-he was always a decent box to box player.(wonder what he thinks of Mr Charambolous)He has Porter alongside him now though aswell at heybridge

Sesay isnt a battler? Dont think you have been watching him too closely MM.I would still play him in place of... well lets just say there should be a place in the 11 for him and it shouldnt be difficult to replace another for him to come in.

At the meeting the other night i think i am correct in recollecting that this question was asked of CK. He said sesay was a young lad who he didn't want to over play and was happy to rest or words to that effect.

Yes, when speaking to him face to face about Sesay he said the very same thing BB. But it isnt the Premiership is it for goodness sake. These were the exact words I said to him. Sesay has matured and never let us down & with every game he had begun to blossom.Lets not forget also that HE was playing out of position also. Given his correct role he will be seen at his best, I believe.I do think "because he's young" is just a smokescreen for another underlying reason.Maybe I think too deeply..Lets face it CK allowed him to play when we were short of full backs so being too young didnt stop him getting picked on those occasions did it? The poor lad must be gutted after all his sterling work and for what ever reason it may be,this exclusion will do him more harm than good.Certainly it will affect him more than being thrust into the team too early because of his age.He was in form,unlike some others so he should be out there mixing it with the rest.When IS the time to play him? He will go just like many others have done, to some other club(on a free transfer) who will benefit and we will be kicking ourselves for missing the opprtunity of getting the very best out of him. It just seems that this is the way it goes with many other talented but unused players at our club. It really is a crying shame. Again I say it..breath wasted really on this, as we all know where he will end up dont we? ELSEWHERE!

Apologies that this thread entitled "Anthony Allman" has somehow turned into a Osman Sesay thread but thats what happens occasionally. The thread wanders off slightly and becomes another thread among a thread.

Looking forward to Allman getting back. Despite Dean Standens sudden improved play(not massive improvement but nevertheless improvement),and with respect to him, I would still feel much much better with Allman back in that slot. I really do think that when he comes back our backline will be much more more sold & a defence to rely on.

He certainly wont go on a free transfer Cookie as he is under contract. Chris also said at the meeting that he would be kicked all over the park against some of the more physical sides like East Thurrock etc, and when you saw their defenders you can understand that. If U remember Lamb kicked him all over the park in the Boxing day encounter & he isnt exactly big!

 

But I will agree would like to see Chris put him on for about 20 mins at the end of the game as I think he would do the business for us.

Lets put it this way then. If & when he goes I doubt we will reap the true rewards(financially) for his true talent and his true worth because we have been denied a showing from him in the role that he should be playing in in reality. I dont know if that Reading report was just a sham or not but if it wasnt then they at least could see something in him, so that,if true,should be telling us something.There are many kids of his age playing out there. It probably hasnt done them any harm.In fact some will hace progressed through the leagues just because they have been given outings. Sitting on the bench may be CKs way of bringing him along but it certainly isnt to me. This post will almost guarantee another slot on the bench for him now,just you watch.

Its a shame you couldnt make the meeting Tony because the way Chris spoke re the team it might have allayed some of your fears.

I havent heard anything come from that meeting from others that suggests to me that he will be playing again for us in the near future.He needs to be playing.He needs to be putting in sterling work,he needs to be getting the headlines.Then and only then will anything like his true worth be noticed and forthcoming or offered.

Enough said on him from me for now I think. I hear you Alan but I am still not convinced that his age is the one thing preventing him from being picked. Just a gut feeling I have thats all.

simple really aint it kinnear dosnt know how to use young players.dont know why he ever signs any really.abbott,pullmanand now sessay.i cant remember one player in his teens who has been given a fair go.the only time one gets a go is when we are short and that is rarely in their favoured position

Of course, on the other hand the three players Seaside mentioned have not moved on to bigger and greater things, two play at a level below us, and one plays in the same level as us. That tends to suggest that CK knew what he was about.

Young Sesay is a great player, but it must be recognised that he is still growing at 17, and, not yet having reached physical maturity, surely it makes sense to be careful with his development. And as well as that, playing him at left wing back is his worst position, as he does not have a well-developed left foot. At right wing back he did very well, but this is not his position either. To do justice to his potential, he needs to be developed in the position that suits him best. On the other hand, given our present league position, and the need to consolidate a strong team to build on, and given the strong and physical nature of the opposition we encounter in this league, I can see why CK is making the team choices that he does.

That is not to say that I am not as sorry as the rest of us that we have not seen him lately, and agree that he could be extemely effective and dangerous if he were to be brought on as a super-sub.
