Coming to Kingsmeadow on Saturday ?

As you guys have been good enough to give us 'chapter and verse' on the match arrangments for Dons fans at Hartsdown, it only seems fair that I should try and reciprocate. So here goes...

COMING BY TRAIN

As I'll be doing on Saturday and not good news it seems. Engineering works means a replacement bus service between Gillingham and Strood and then a slow train to Victoria. Add an extra HOUR on to your journey time. Then catch any train out to Clapham Junction before changing and boarding a Shepperton-bound service (usually every 15 mins from Platform 14) to NORBITON. 8-10 mins walk, just follow the crowd

Alternatively, bus 131 passes the ground from either Kingston, Raynes Park or Wimbledon stations.

KINGSMEADOW

Admission prices etc can be found on our official club website http://www.afcwimbledon.co.uk/

There are two bars - the (larger) 'middle' bar permits smoking, has a big screen for Sky games and usually a bit of real ale. The 'back bar' is generally quieter, non-smoking and also has a big screen.

There are catering outlets inside and outside the ground. Out of the main entrance and turn right for a parade of shops including a 'greasy spoon' cafe - the wonderfully named 'Fat Boys' (ideal for Mr Bloodvessel perhaps ?), a fish and chip shop and two 'convenience stores'.

For those of you who can't make it, there will be live internet commentary of the game here http://www.wdon.com/

Feel free to pop by our guestbook here http://www.afcwgb.co.uk/gb.php - it's bit quirky sometimes but you are more than welcome to join in.

And afterwards you can watch it all again on http://www.donsonline.net/ who film the matches.

You'll be segregated (as are all visiting fans) in the Kingston Road End (covered) next to the Club Shop. Your coaches will be parked adjacent to it.

I'm sure I haven't covered everything here, so if you've got any questions before Saturday - post here and I'll do my best to answer them.

Safe journey and look forward to seeing many of you at Kingsmeadow on Saturday

If going by car DO NOT park on the council estate.

For easy reference the side roads on the main road opposite the stadium road are OK and are easier to get away from. You will probally find the clubs car park full by 13.00 and there field by 14.00 (it is very slow to get out of the field).

Thanks Ray, hopefuly we will be able to provide you with a decent away following which appears to be lacking in this league. Whatever the turnout, hopefully at least 100, you will certainly hear us.

Dear All, I live in Sevenoaks, probably about half way between Margate and Kingsmeadow and travel to watch the Dons every week. The journey by car is relatively simple.

My preferred route would probably be M2, A249, M20,M26, M25, (Then depending on Local Traffic Reports) take either the A217, A243 or A3, I normally take the A243 sign posted Chessington World of Adventure, this will entually lead you to a roundabout take the second exit towards Kingston at the next rounabout (A3) go right onto A3, you want the New Malden exit, after filtering off the A3 take first exit at roundabout on to another roundabout take first left and then straight until you get to Kingsmeadow.

My advice make a day of it, bring a friend and enjoy the Wimbledon hospitality as outlined by Ray.

Hello again,

Joseba has summed up the parking situation pretty well I think.

Someone on our forum asked about bringing drums and airhorns in. Haven't a clue to be honest - because no-one's ever brought any before !

Should be OK though (can't see us being killjoys somehow) and you'll be given enough terracing to use them
