Chesham game

Thought I'd start this one off...

 

Not a bad game, Saints just about deserved to win, thought we passed it about better in the first half though more (missed!) chances in the second.

 

Staffs took his chance well after good work down the right by Miguel and a, ahem, 'pass' by Steve Castle.

 

Difficult to pick a MotM, I thought the 'old heads' Oakes and Castle played well on the whole and Craig looked sharp when he came on. The sponsors plumped for Challinor. Referee was very inconsistent.

how did wilmot and the defence play?

Evening Mad.

 

Wilmot did well apart from one or two nervy moments and yes, he did kick the ball out of play, but only once.

 

Gould had a good game at right-back and Moran looked happier in the middle alongside Corey.

 

Beckett looked good at left back too until he was substituted, not sure why, I can only remember him missing a tackle once.

sounded ok. did they have lots of chances though? Wilmot would be a good keeper if he stopped doing stupid things.

Not a great game from my point of view, I thought the saints could have probably scored 3 or 4 with a better eye for goal and we were too wayward with our passing and not sharp enough in attack.

 

Wilmot did look quite badly injured and probably could have been in trouble had the defence in front of him not been so organised.

 

I don't think St Albans got in to top gear yesterday but they didn't really need to because we lacked ideas.

Out of the top 6 or 8 teams, which have you played and which do you think are the best Steve-o old boy??

I really hate to say it GHA but it is Aldershot, they looked brighter over the two games. That's to say the Saints didn't look like they set the world on fire on Saturday, but I wouldn't expect them to play out of their skins with the cup game coming up.

I only gave an honest opinion, I don't actually want it to be Aldershot!

So they do Zealster, but if they draw it evens it all up a bit, but then we don't have a league game Saturday so all the other clubs will have the chance to catch up with us. I'm still hoping the league will find Aldershot guilty of dodgy dealings and knock some points off; not that's how I want to win the league.
