Was it 6 years since we beat Boston at home? Also nice to remember the thrashing of Kings Lynn and presumably the last competitive game against Gillingham in 1949. Can someone confirm this?

We didnt beat Boston at home we drew 1-1 against them and that was at the beginning of december 2001 in the Conference.

We beat them in our first season back in the SP Alex.

We should have won that game with the ball going over the line then cleared, and what a goal from Terry.

And he only just failed from the centre circle with almost his first touch. His confidence was sky-high then. Shame he ate too many pies in the close season and never looked quite the same afterwards. Plays in Oz now apparently.

 

In those days new players couldn't wait to appear in a Margate shirt, because we had made a name for ourselves. During yesterday's game I saw that same passion from Brayley, Trott, Hockton. What an improvement these men are from some of the other new recruits that have come and gone, who put in zero effort and looked as if they would rather be anywhere else.

 

We are definitely on the right track. Credit to CK for recruiting these players, and to the backers who are putting up the money.
