3-0 I think. Mario scored a penalty. A trialist scored the first two. No idea who he was.

 

Neil Midgley played up front for Canvey.

It was quite a decent game but could not understand why all the players were wearing shirts with different names on etc? For example, Mario wore Wardy's shirt with name and number whilst some other trialist wore Mario's shirt? Neil Midgely played and wore "Boylan 10" on his back and only a few wore their proper named and numbered shirts, Dolan, McGhee, Gregory etc. All very confusing really. Why could they just not have worn 1-11 as they do for normal reserve games?

 

Interesting that Alton Thelwell's brother played for Canvey last night but was injured and had to leave the field after only ten minutes. Obviously he is as unlucky with injuries as his brother has been at Spurs and Hull City.

 

Does anybody think that Neil Midgely might be coming back to Canvey? Worked very hard last night without a lot of luck. Obviously after being released by Kettering he will be looking for a new club so either he played last night as a trial or is just training with Canvey to keep fit and they just gave him a game.

 

Grant up front did look sharp and could well be worth taking on. Of the first team squad, other than the aforementioned Dolan, McGhee, Gregory and Mario, Stuart Bimson and Lee Jay played but the rest of the team were reserves and triallists.

There isn't a Kyle Grant in the Soccerbase, and I haven't found a Kyle Grant anywhere for Northampton Town...I did find ex-Gull David Kerslake as their Reserve Manager though! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

 

HOWEVER, I did find a Kyle Grant playing IN Northampton, for Harpole U15's....So it's unlikely to be him.

Well, he's the only Kyle Grant I get back from doing a Worldwide search in Google.

 

There's also another that plays Canadian Football...which is not Soccer unfortunately.

 

Then again, has anyone considered the fact that this could be a Psydoneum (check spelling) used by either the Player or the Club? I read somewhere on ConfGuide I think it was, that several players did this during the Summer to conceal their real identities. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/ignore.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/pipe.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/whistling.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/teleport.gif" alt="" />

Following Neil Midgely out the door at Kettering is their Manager, Kevin Wilson who's been sacked with immediate effect.

 

Only lasted slightly longer than Gazza after he was reinstated.

What a fiasco at that club eh? That new owner has made Kettering a laughing stock to say the least.

Thats the 2nd time he has been sacked this season. He was forced out to make way for Gazza and then cameback to sort out the fisaco caused by Gazza and now has been disgracefully sacked again!
I've hated Kettering ever since they took the soft option of going into the Ryman thinking it would be an easy way of getting back to the conference(they finished 11th in the Ryamn that year).
I just hope we dont see them back in the conference for a very long time.

Rumours are rife at their place that Gazza might make a return without the influence/pressure of Wilson, (wasn't he their 'Director of Football' during his reign?).

 

That's to be expected I suppose with that Ladak chap at the helm now. However, I think the Kettering fans are extremely vigilant at this time as to who will be appointed.

How the hell were Kettering allowed to play in the Ryman league? Not exactly local, are they...
