It may not be so much a case of getting Labour in but more of a case of using the election to highlight our cause. Ask people to quiz candidates how they stand on the issue, and if a couple of members should lose their seats as a result, it would concentrate the minds of the others because one third of the seats come up each year.If we are able to make it an issue, then we will benefit whoever wins.

Agreed, we need to try top make our case felt not change the election, because much as I love my club, i cant see a council change making any difference to our cause, also, i cannot bring myself to vote for Blair and co whatever the circumstances.

This is a local election, so vote on local issues.

i agree that we probably wont be able to affect the overall power in the council, we should be pushing our cause at every case, trying to get at least one person there at every public questions session and finding what they all think. Although im sure this would just produce false answers and promises it would still bring our cause to the front.

I say should, because two things could dictate that he will not be.

 

1. His state of ill health

 

2. His impending hearing by the Adjudication Panel after the Standards Board took complaints against him seriously
