Is this a good advert for grassroots football and the youth football of today yes it does go on and I have seen it at rush green but I dont like it and even had a parent complain of some of the bad language upset her as her 7 year old son wants to come and support his local team

it will take an entire generation of players to get rid of all this crap that you see at senior non-league level! it's a men's game,it's tough but fair and competitive.there is no place for what happened last night:i hope the FA set up a good example in dealing with it

Some of you may be familiar with the correctly shaped ball.

At Saracens RFC, who play at Vicarage Road, Watford, they make good use of the tannoy thing throughout the game. Whenever there is any 'handbags' stuff, they play 8/10 seconds of the theme from 'Rocky'.

We could all learn something from rugby.

Can't say that it's a good advert for non league football, but does anyone actually know what happened?

There's nothing on the Chelmsford web site, but a lot of accusations and counter accusations on the Braintree web site.

From what I can gather, it did not spill over into the crowd, which is at least something to be relieved about.

As for ice hockey, I stopped going simply because of the disgraceful behaviour of some of the players - it has always amazed me that the referees do not take proper action.

Firstly I don't condone midget bashing

Next, Zodys comment goes on swearing at football matches. Swearing and football come hand in hand, they just do.

It was always seen that Rugby was the middle/upper classes sport and football was the working class sport. Therefore the assumption goes Working class>Uneducated>swears alot. I don't necessarily agree with this but it still is the case swearing and football matches come together so if you don't like swearing at football matches A) move place, B) don't go c) [****!!****] off

>>>cue dagger04.

There's a set of football followers who call themselves Groundhoppers, some of whom regularly get in 200 matches in a season (yes it can be done, though I cannot honestly understand what enjoyment anyone can get from what is surely an obsession - especially if they go to a game and put little or nothing back in return).

But to go to 5000 or more matches, that's a lot - if it is over 25 years, then it equates to 200 per year (for example). No idea how many I have been do, as I do not attempt to keep a record of the number.

As regards matches abandoned through player trouble, this happened twice in successive nights at Dagenham a few seasons back - two minor league cup finals in a row - one when the players got involved in a mass brawl, and the other when some of the players went into the stand and got involved with the spectators. It also happened the previous season in a similar manner, and I seem to recall that a Chelmsford ESC match a few seasons ago was also abandoned in similar circumstances - can't remember who they were playing - it might have been Romford, or Braintree.

And now one for Max - what's the shortest match before it got called off?
