Funniest penalty award ever?

I went to the Barkinside V Romford game on saturday. After the Romford keeper accepting my offer of using my Urchins cap to play in to keep the sun out of his eyes, he played a blinder, gave it back to me when the sun went down and then let in two goals.

2-2 on agg. at half time Ready made some changes and Romford played a little bit better. They knocked a ball into the Barkingside area, a Barkingside player shouted "its a foul" and their number 11 picked the ball up and turned round and showed the ref what he had done, who pointed to the penalty spot. This gave Romford their only shot on target which went in.

Their manager stormed to the crowd behind the goal saying who had a whistle. The number 11 had to be pulled back at full time saying he had heard a whistle but having stood with with the Romford supporters in the 2nd half, i can 100 per cent say there was not a whistle from the crowd.

I then met Ready, the Romford manager, after the game and told him his keeper played most of the first half wearing a Hornchurch cap. He put his head in his hands mumbbling " Oh No".

David did but he put his england shirt over the top on the way there because the last time he did that and played football on the astro turf the big kids kept kicking him

Its the kind of thing that you only dream of happening... Roy of the Rovers-esque.... Left us Burnham boys in hysterics, as im sure it did you Urchins!

According to Coup last night they may change the league game on the 25th to be the first semi-final.

Couldn't make it, henceforth my lack of comment on said incident. But being a much-travelled Romford fan of long-standing, I can only say that I can never recollect anyone with a whistle before.

A megaphone at Brimsdown ten years ago..now that was fookin' funny, but never a whistle.

Sounds like the defender was trying to save face having cocked up..but as I said, I wasn't there..
