Gary McCann

I see you've managed to get Gary McCann back then... I hope none of you saw his performances for us. Apparently he was a good keeper, or so we were told when we signed him. Yes he may have been 'treated unfairly' by us, but only becuase we couldn't understand why this piss poor looking keeper had replaced our top man in goal... Hope it gets better for him as he deserves better.

The Aylesbury fans claim that he was given more than a fair crack of the whip, but I somehow doubt it. Apparently a minority of the fans were anti-McCann before they'd kicked off their first league game of the season, and remained so throughout his stay there. I get the impression that if he'd saved a dozen penalties in a game he'd have been slagged off for conceeding one in open play by that minority of their fans. That said, others refused to slag him off in a game and defended him to a limited extent, but still prefered Adam Wheeler.

Wheeler was a fantastic keeper for us last year so many thought he was unfairly trreated to be dropped by McCann after doing nothing wrong. McCann started at 1st choice but was very poor and got a lot of stick. Why is wheeler on the bench when we have this muppet in goal?

In the end evven his team-mates were slagging him off because he was terrible and eventualy the management saw sense and put wheelo back in goal, he came back and was superb.

Even Greg williams our right back was better in goal than McCann.

He did come to us with a good reputation so maybe things willl work out at slough.

Jamie Duck - can't argue with how good McCann was in goal for you, after all I was watching Hendon, but surely to say Williams is a better 'keeper is simply garbage. He may have kept a clean sheet (and full credit to the guy), but by all accounts the guy did so in a poor game with a far more solid looking defence in front of him.

Matt C - He may have been trying to impress, but unlikely. He was only on loan to get match fitness after a long lay off and came back to Hendon to fight for his first team shirt back. He wasn't being touted around the league for sale at the time.

I feel he is an OK keeper anyway, but was on a hiding to nothing at Aylesbury. The captain (who has since departed) even started yelling at him, so I feel sorry for him and hope things work out better here.
