just got back and i got to say we were unlucky not to win, i think it turned when Macca was sent off.

good away support and a very nice stand and clubhouse with cheap beer.

Mark Rawle looked good, shame he couldn't play with Charlie who went off injured at halftime and Mark is the NEW NUMBER 9. such a long time since we had a player with that number on.

Robert Watkins i thought had quite a good game just some of his clearances were poor but im sure will get better.

Started well but as the game went on they edged their way back into it and I think 1-1 was a fair result over all. Mark Rawle gave it his all and looked very handy. Saw Manny Omoyinmi at the services on the way up who had played with Rawle at Oxford and he said he was a good player.

I think the ref must have been paid by the card as it was 7 yellows in the first half followed by one red in the second. Their tree that played up front played for the foul.

Watching from the terraces on the plus side we were allowed to SIT where we wanted so that was all right.

"JOKE ALLERT" Cambridge is cold, hopefully they'll go out of business in the summer and we don't have to go back there. "END OF JOKE"

His distribution seemed poor, but he could certainly tackle.

A draw was probably fair overall - McCarthy had to go really for his foul, denying Onibuje a clear goalscoring chance, even though the beanpole made a bit of a meal of it. Without the dismissal we may have done enough to win, and could have been further ahead but for a wonder save by Howie from Jacko, tipping his effort onto the bar. By the end though, Cambridge could easily have stolen it themselves, but for a couple of bad misses (i.e. a free header wide at the back post, and a wild shot over from the edge of the box with Holloway grounded after he miscued with an attempted punched clearance).

Rawle put a lot of running up front and showed some promising signs. Jacko was MOTM, and not just for his excellent goal.

At the start of the game, I'd have taken a point, given Cambridge United's largely impressive home form. It's a shame Woking and Daggers moved above us, but you can't have everything.

I thought jacko and slatter both deserved MOTM Danny for the amount of times he was pushed to the ground and he just got up and got on with his football.

From what I could see Mark looked good and Luke Moore did well.

Very harsh on Macca's sending off I thought and some of the yellows were rather silly to but there you go.

Over all a good Performance!!

Watkins was excellent a very good defensive left back which is what we have needed. Can give it to jacko and co to 'bomb on' forward and do the business, therefore no need to get caught out himself.

Rawle again worked very hard - unusual for loan players which was nice to see.

Moore when he runs at defenders is such an exciting talent. He will go sooooooooo far in football!

Just remember SELL ON CLAUSE

One worry now - Johnson, Mcarthy and Slatter are all now going to be missing against Kidderminster. Presumably that will mean Watkins continues in place of Johnson, Fuller likely to come in for Slatter (or Hodgson, I guess) and James Smith replaces Mcarthy? (the other option,I presume would be to bring Skins back at left back and Watkins moves to centre back alongside Ross)

As for Rawle working hard - its not so surprising when Woking have made it pretty clear that he's unlikely to be taken back into the fold there,so he'll want to impress in the hope we take him permanently.

I've always wondered why they call it a 'proffesional foul' when it should be called a 'stupid foul'.

If you don't foul in that position the odds are, at this level, that the forward will not score as evidenced by the number of times we were clean through with just the keeper to beat against Canvey. Even if they do score with eleven men still on the pitch we would have a chance of getting a goal ourselves. If you do foul, not only do you leave your side with a man short for the rest of the game but you are also going to pick up a suspension.

A good game unfortunately ruined by the ref who saw it fit to book 8 (the BBC missed Onibuje being booked for kicking the ball away) and send of Macca 2 (no arguments about that).

Mark Rawle gave it his all when he came on and will be a useful acquisition.

Good number of travelling fans, hopefully the same will be in evidence at Kiddy.

Should be classed as a 'solid' performance. Both sides had their chances, both sides missed some chances.

Personally, the jurys out on Watkins, Rawle looked fast and took his chances when he could. McCarthys sending off was right, just a desperate attempt at stopping the attack on goal. The game wasn't a blood bath, Mr. Fletcher in the middle spoiled the game by being over zealous. Was he being watched, I wonder?

Overall, an enjoyable game at a ground that is far superior than the Conference, but a club that won't going anywhere soon. Already looking forward to our visit next season.

The way on one occasion he puffed out his chest and very positively indicated the direction of a throw in when facing the main stand suggests to me that he was.

My thoughts on yesterdays game echo most of what has been said already.

Thought we looked the better side up until Macca 2's sending off.

Thought the forward made a meal of it, and was actually slowing up , seemingly looking for an opportunity to go down when Macca bundled into the back of him.

After that they came into the game scored one and missed a couple of glorious chances.

Before the game would have settled for a point, but upon leaving was disappointed.

I thought that the overall team performance was very solid, and one to be optimistic about.

BIG thank you to Cheeky Trev T for the lift back to the station.

Who needs the premiership, the Fleet faithful on the train back enjoyed a sumptious feast of prawn sandwiches and Singapore slings. The London branch as ever do it in style.

Very good first half performance by the Fleet I thought, looked dangerous going forward even if a little shaky at the back. Not sure what the ref was doing though?

Second half was unfortunate for us as I really feel we would of won the game if Macca hadn't of got sent off but it was definitely a red card. His lack of pace does worry me, but he is an asset to the team apart from that.

Watkins looked a great tackler and Rawle was very up for it. Hope we won't have lost any of this determination when we next return for a league game in two weeks time.
