It shows that we need a reserve team badly. We cant keep chucking away points because X cant play a position or he isnt used to it. Standens selection and Sesay on bench shows above anything that CK WILL NOT play 442 at all. We needed width today and the wing back didnt put themselves in good attacking breakaway positions. When they could cross the cross was poor or there was not enough players in the box. Harrow crowded Hockton out and noone else was a threat in the air.

and maybe why players are signed in first place if they are going to go after one game.

 

With CK and KR alledged 'knowledge and contacts in non league football', surely this is not necessary .

i agree with your view GW about a reserve side,the younger players like Yiga and sessay want to play,not sit on the bench,they must be getting abit pissed off,there must be others we dont know about,one, in particular,i have heard whispers about is a youngen,left footed and by all accounts is fast,can tackle and is a natural wingback,these players will move on and we will be left with the same old faces,and miss out on some young,fresh talent that are eager to impress

I see that Scott Forbes scored for Billericay in a friendly and was apparently classy throughout the game. Hope he isn't another good player that manages to ivade us.

A shame but he doesnt really fit the system for us but could be a class act on the left in a 442. Same as Sesay on the other wing.

Agreed these players will perform better in a 442 system but what can we do, CK is the man with the plans.

And I belive that CK IS the man to get the GATE out of this league,he is planing for next year,already we have some class players under contract and hopefully more to come,so why are you always having a pop Teabar. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />

I'm always having a pop Tony because I feel that the tactics that CK plays are not right for the league that we are in. Sure it worked in the conference back when we had the players to suit the 5-3-2 formation. But currently a simple 4-4-2 would work wonders, unfortunately CK doesn't seem to ever want to change formations. All i'm saying is why?

Teabar that post is spot on but TonyM I do have total confidence in CK an wouldnt want any other manager, ok maybe Mourinho or Pearce but thats about it.

OK,point taken,BUT,who are we to say that CK is wrong.Out of all of us WHO knows the game better,are we MORE gifted than him on knowing what team formation to put out,I dont think so,it is my oppion that we as true GATE fans go to cheer the boys on,win loose or draw,yes we can all say I would do this or I would do that,BUT,at the end of the day untill someone can prove he/she is better than CK,WHY dont we just get behind the GATE and stop moaning,or maybe go to CK show him your qualifications in team management and tell him you can do a better job.

Well said, but the amount of times people have said that and nothing has hapenned we are still moaning. I agree with you about CK knows the best formation for the players as he knows them better then us.

With all the comings and goings I wouldn't be suprised if CK didn't even know who was in the changing room at times LOL! But seriously I know he's got a great record and I respect him as a person. But at times i just feel that 5 at the back is too negative for a side that plays some superb attacking football, only to be frequently let down by a lack of players up the pitch. So not having a major go at CK but i think with the players we have we could really batter teams offensively. Anyway maybe CK's new signings to strenghthen the back line will allow him to push players further up the pitch.

OK,it has been nice talking to you both tonight and I share your coments,one thing I would like to say on this.Getting a team together is like building a house,you get the foundations together,ie the defence,dont let in a goal you might just nick one,we have to give this time.I am sure next year the GATE will be up and running we have to keep the faith and wait.

5 at the back has never been C.Ks way of playing but he must have his reasons i personally dont like it and would rather go back to a 4.4.2. like we were in the conferance, yea yea were not in the conferance but boy we had some good times on the pitch and on the terraces. Right now we need points so if 5 at the back brings this then happy days bring on Ramsgate and we will whip there arses next season. GULP i hope
