Segregated Matches

Recommended Posts

The match against Farnborough on Saturday will be segregated, and home supporters should use the turnstiles at the front of the ground and away supporters the car park turnstiles.

My apologies for the delay in announcing this, but I was only told this evening.

With regard to future segregated matches, the matches against Margate on Boxing Day and Yeovil on 4th January will be segregated. The Kettering match on 7th December may also be segregated, but a final decision has yet to be taken on this.

Hopefully the segregation is in force for Saturdays game , because Farnboro' are bringing a few. ( However I doubt it)

Hopefully a 1,500 crowd could be a possibility ..

C'mon you rip roaring reds !!

I much prefer segregated games, gives it a more professional feel and more importantly means 2 halves under cover with mr drummer 'bangin' all afternoon. It probably causes more problems than it saves and I havent a clue why against Farnborough. But hey, the powers that be are there for a reason.

Up the super super Reds.

I find this argument very difficult to follow. If the matches are segregated then we can stay at the covered end for both halves.

Now maybe I am not paying attention, but I haven't noticed the second hand T70 tank that the club have obviously purchased to drive you to the other end at half-time.

If you want to spend the whole match under cover then just do.

The real downside of segregation is that we are losing out on bar takings, which now go to the Plough and the Rose.

My understanding is that it's either because we have some info about potential trouble or because of the potential numbers that the oppo might bring. Margate were segregated because on the day the draw for the cup was announced their Chairman said that they would bring 1000 to Stonebridge Road (yeh right). I think the club were told that Farnborough took about 300 to Barnet for a mid-week game and decided that was enough to segregate.
