first team news

Home at last

The Dons first home game for over a month takes place tomorrow with the visit of fifteenth placed Slough Town to The Fans' Stadium.

Dave has named the following squad:

Andy Little, Josh Lennie, Antony Howard, Simon Sobihy, Wayne Finnie, Steve Butler, Dave Sargent, Wes Daly, Michael Harvey, Dwayne Plummer, Chris Gell, Barry Moore, Robert Ursell, Shane Smeltz, Richard Butler, Mark King.

Dave was in the middle of delicate contract talks when the OS caught up with him.

"I will meet with a centre-forward tonight and hope we can come to some agreement. If we can agree terms, hopefully he will join on Monday to train with the boys on Tuesday."

Chris Gell trained on Tuesday and Thursday without reaction to his injured foot. Mark Peters is injured and Nas Richardson has a slight knock and will probably play for the reserves.

"Gelly feels good and Antony Howard also trained both days. Richard Butler's hand is also improving. Mark King replaces Niall Connery in the squad as Mark has been looking sharp recently and in training. In addition we feel Niall could do with some match time.

"It feels like a long time since we played at home so I would hope we will have a big crowd. The supporters were excellent at Worthing and the atmosphere around the club and in training has been really really good. I sense the players are in the mood to perform."

Be great to get a result tomorrow.
