Just listening to "The Wedding Album" by John & Yoko. It's better than "Two Virgins", but not as good as "Life With The Lions" which has the brilliant "Cambridge 1969" on it.

Okay, I understand. The White Album that I was referring to is a double album of experimental music produced by the Beatles (not as a group, or so I believe). I imagine it is similar.

The White Album has to be one of the simplest, back-to-basics, straight-forward albums they ever recorded.

What about "Number 9"?

 

I read ages ago, that they did it all individually, everyone had their own ideas, so they just went and did what they felt like.

 

I'm not sure it's basic: listen to the chord progressions in "Piggies".

Yeah, it was certainly their least-together album and alot of the tracks only feature just one or two of the group on them.

 

Songs like "Dear Prudence", "Sexy Sadie" and "Happiness Is A Warm Gun" are amongst the best Lennon has ever written though.

 

"Helter Skelter", "Revolution 1" and "Back In The USSR" are straight forward rock, and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" is probably Harrison's masterpiece.

 

Just skip "Revolution 9". I normally do.

Is "Birthday" on it?

 

I have to agree on the Harrison masterpiece although "Come Together" runs it a close second.

Hmm, Metallica, I saw them at Donnington once and managed to storm onto the platform in front of the stage where the bouncers are. I got kicked a couple of times before I was manhandled off.

Probably about when you were born! I'm not sure, maybe about 1987, they were on with Anthrax. We spent the previous evening see how much we could drink in "Rock City" in Nottingham.

 

I've also been ejected from Manowar at the Marquee for continual stage diving and threatening the bouncers.

Calm down Colin! You know I never liked that song but am a fan of most of The Beatles music. The White album is very good, I must agree.

In the film about Spinal Tap, don't they have a 'Black' album. I love that film! Especially the bit where they get lost backstage. Did they just do one spinal tap film or was there sequels?
