Slough Town Res 0 - 1 Windsor & Eton Res

Another solid performance from the ressies saw us complete the double over tennants Slough Town.

A superb 85th minute strike from Daniel Blatchford was enough to see off Slough in a match that was close to not even finishing.

A couple of minutes before the goal half the lights on the park side of the ground went out but bothe managers and the referee agreed that there was enough light to continue.

A well done also goes to Windsor's stand in keeper, Wayne Morris, who is normally found playing up front.

Team:- Morris, Cahill, Dirou, Dunlop, Woodcraft (D Case), Noubuya (Turner), Chukwu, Blatchfor, Abbott, Maqsood, Ayett (Spellman).

if you claim that the reserves are better than the 1st team, that makes the first extreamly poor.

I think you will find that the ones making the claims about the ressies weren't saying that they were better just that if the first team aren't doing so well then why not drop in a couple of the ressies to shake things up.

There was more action in the debate about if Sven should go behind the goal

Nah on the half way line is the best place to see the whole match and see what needs changing! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

O.K. so not the best game that you ever saw !

However, WEFC will take positives of blooding young players (the youngest was just 16) who may make 1st team players in the future. WEFC played well with Will Dunlop and Paul Dirou outstanding at centre-back. Both already capable of 1st team football. Slough were restricted to few opportunities, particularly in the second half. WEFC deservedly won the game even if Slough were slightly the better team in the first half. Not every game can be 4-4 and full of attacking excitement. There are a handful of promising players in the ressies; give them time to learn!!

It wasn't the best game the reserves have played all season, but the football wasn't bad.

The pitch wasn’t in great condition and the ball bobbled so it was always going to be difficult to play flowing football

Windsor looked solid and worked hard. Great goal!

Overall Windsor deserved the win.
