Last night , my girlfriend (whose from overseas) asked me

 

"Why wa sthe game cancelled"

 

"Frozen pitch" I says

 

reply was

 

"You would have thought they had put on the heating and closed the roof back over the stadium"

 

 

No concept on the struggles of a non league team.

 

Then went on to explain differemce in leagues etc.

Have always been amazed ( but maybe not surprised !) at the times I have seen, both live & on TV, a player who trys to score (and misses) when an easy pass to maybe one or two colleagues in better positions would have surely resulted in a goal. As the Cider takes effect, the volume of my stock chant in this situation gets louder ( surely not ?)......which is :-

I was somewhat surprised when my Mrs piped up last week( having known her for 30 odd years !) " he's not bald " ! After reprogramming myself to understand "wifespeak" I asked what she was on about.

She had thought I was saying bald greedy b*stard for all those years ! I might mumble on the odd occasion....but not constantly for that amount of time !! and not all of the abuse was directed at the folically challenged !
