Dissapointed by Town fans.

Why is it every time we lose a game, several posts are made about how things need to change, or how we need a new manager, or how we need new players etc etc blah blah.

What have we become exactly?

We are Enfield Town Football Club. A club which is meant to thrive on the unity of it supporters and founding members. I remember when the club began in 2001, and you could go and speak to anyone and they would be happy - quite simply because they were watching THEIR team playing in THEIR home town.

Yes, we want to win all the time, but some of you have a take a step back and realise that it's quite simply not possible. We were promoted from the Essex Senior League last season, and have had to play against far more organised and experienced teams this season (with all due respect to the ESL).

It truly does sadden me to read so many negative posts. And yes, you are entitled to your views. Yes, this forum was set up to enable supporters to express themselves. But for heaven's sake, be realistic with your posts.

Whatever happened to the "All for one" attitude?

Got to agree with Robson on this Town supporters just take a step back for a minute and ask yourselfs what would you have Realistically settled for in this league at the start of the season and have you done better than expected so far i think apart from a few bad results your doing well

Well I for one will not be satisfied until we are in the Premier Division - The FA premiership in case there is any doubt .

However, I am realistic enough to realise that this may take around 10 years. As it is I felt that we could make a strong challenge in this division and we have done that. I still think we can finish second after all if Corby win their game in hand they will only be 3 points in front and, having seen them twice this year, there is nothing there to really worry about. They will lose again this season and so, perhaps, will the town.

The side is stronger than it was last year and even since the beginning of the season. Sometimes I think the tactics are a little predicatable but that is the way it goes and we do need a lot of "thinking time" which other sides do not appear to require.

If every supporter is dissapointed with how things have gone the last few weeks, isn't that unity and an all-for-one attitude? We continue to be united as fans.

Only one person has called for Jim to go on this forum. The rest of us are united behind him.

If some fans feel the team need to strenghen in certain areas of the pitch, they have every right to say that.It is an 'discussion forum' after all. Some of us were suggesting that long before this recent bad spell.

Robson, did you attend the Potters bar, Rothwell ,and Corby games? If not, please accept the opinions of those of us that were there.

I attended the Potters Bar and Rothwell games, but was unable to travel to Corby. I do honestly accept the opinions of other supporters, and like I said in my earlier post it's quite acceptable to air your views on this forum (and of course at the matches too).

The point I wanted to make is that a fair amount of the comments on here lately have been very negative, something which is unusual at this club.

For example, Brian Hammet has taken quite a lot of criticism, but no-one complains when he scores. Also, after we beat Harlow 5-1, everyone believed we were invincible and there wasn't a hint of criticism. But then we lose the next game and suddenly we're in a crisis of titanic proportions and things have to change.

They way I see things at the moment is that we're having a blip. We're still second in the table, and in all honesty the league title has already been decided. We're only playing for second, and at this moment in time, we're well on course.

I hope my post at the beginning of this thread didn't sound offensive to anyone - nor was it actually aimed at anyone. It's just very frustraing to keep logging into this forum, seemingly to only find negative posts.

Regards

Rudi Hall scored a hat trick at Harlow.

I realised my mistake before reading your post, and subsequently edited my post in the hope no-one will ever realise

Fair points, Robson, though I think there's a few of us that have been surprised at the LACK of quality in this league, compared to the ESL. The number of games we've lost is hardly championship form but we're there or there abouts.

On Bryan's form you're quite right that we don't complain when he scores - so he knows what he's got to do more often then!

Always assuming that everyone on here who claims to support the Town actually does.
Or else why hide your identity?.
