let down fine

Recommended Posts

something has got to change.....

the back 4 have been consistently poor, and today as in other games could not mark or pick up runners

the midfield have no idea, they can't create or pass plus they are too small to cope with the physical side of the game

thank god geordie has been dropped, now can hammett go the same way?

and where the hell has the wide play gone?

the squad is just not strong enough to be in play-offs never mind the top 2

either Jim has to do something; NOW! or the board need to sort it - bet neither happens

Dont take it the wrong way let down ...but why do you lot jump on your teams backs because you happen to have a bad run of results. Its not the end of the world and your destiny is in your own hands. I wouldn't mind Es being where you are.

Keep the faith and dont barrack them or it may get worse.

I agree something has got to change. STOP getting on the teams and Jim's back OK! As a result of today town will be fined £250 for these offences. I think you lot should pay the fine for the players too! We don't need fines like these. Support you team but stop creating a self-fulfilling prophesy of doom and gloom. These are the same players who did not drop a point all December, won team of the month and got to the top of hill. So don't drive them down again. (Sorry Duke not you). The Board has already met this month and is supportive of our manager.

It would be nice to go up again but if you lot drive us back down again under a mountain of stress it is your actions.

Whilst Letdownfine has some very valid opinions, I don't share the strength or thrust of these sentiments. However, he/she has a perfect right to express them.

For Softie to lay into somebody for having an opinion is much more counter-productive - are the board lining up the excuses for a failed season already? It was all "you lot."

Well, Mr Softie, many of "us lot" own the club too and want nothing but the best for our club.

Your comments are arrogant and sound like theyve been written without thinking.

A club owned by the supporters, not just the board. Yove written sense in the past Softie but not this time. Think again.

Sorry Softie, but i don't get your rationale. Are you saying the fans that moaned AFTER the game are responsable for players getting booked IN the game???

From what i saw today, three of the bookings were for Town players questioning some unbelievable refereeing decisions. How is that the fans fault??

On a different subject..Isn't it strange that the both Stamford and Corby have great home records but poor away records. Is it because they get the same Midlands officals for all most of their games??

It isn't my club or the Boards it is our club. ALL the Trust members. Jim is a trust member and deserves our love, discipline and respect for what he does day in day out for no great fee. He does it because he loves Enfield and wants football of the highest quality back in the Borough for us all to enjoy.
Arrogant - No angry. Football is a confidence game - You can encourage or discourage. We all have opinions on team, tactics players, board, ground opposition etc. I struggle on individual things I might disagree with but we are part of a whole and will not agree with everything. Jim and the players don't all come on here and write but they do read and do get hurt by what we write on occasions. I include myself in that criticism too. They are flesh and blood. I'm saying ease up on a fellow trust member and the team. As paying customers you are entitled to voice opinion on a match but try to desist from all out character slaughter.

Failed season? This has been a great season regardless of whether we travel further this year or next. We are all learning to walk at this level of football - we have been running and we've fallen over. Let's pick our collective self up and go forward together as one club. None of us are perfect we make mistakes. Onward and upward.

Firstly. All of us love the club and want to win just as much as Jim.We ALL love the club from the management,to the boardroom, to the supporters.

I'm sorry but this is a fans forum and we have every right to criticize and discuss team tactics on here.If we feel someone isn't worth a place in the team, we will say it.If we feel someone IS worth a place in the team, we will say that too.Rather than getting upset,it should be a spur to those players concerned to go out on the pitch and prove us wrong.

Take a look at it from the other side.Andy Hall was priased to the hilt this week on this forum.Did it improve his performance? NO.Just as criticism shouldn't hinder the performance. It should act as a kick up the backside.

Regarding 'learning to walk at this level'.Most of us having been walking (watching football) at a much higher level that this for the last 20,30,40 years. Some board members have had admin and board experience at higher levels that this.It shouldn't be a culture shock, and we shouldn't be happy with just starting the season well and then fading. We all know that Enfield Town had the ability to have won this league if we had play consistantly well, and we all know that this league isn't as strong as we thought it would be.

I appreciate that we can't have everything at once, and one-step-at-a-time and all that,BUT we don't want to end up like Wealdstone and so many other teams that have reformed and spend 20 years lingering in the middle of the pyramid.

PS...I'm still 100% behind Jim to turn it around,as he has done so many times in the past.

Who mentioned relegation ?
With a proven goal scorer we would actually be several points out in front rather than in the top three, fighting for a final top two place.

You're missing the point OT. After three defeats, suddenly we're the worst side in the world according to let down fine's post. I'm all in favour of healthy and constructive debate, but object to mindless slagging like this. Two weeks ago we were the best thing since sliced thingy after demolishing Harlow, so does three defeats make us rubbish?

I admit freely that this is an alarming wobble, and we need to do something to right the ship, so let's be a bit more constructive please!

Reading the reports and discussion of the game it seems that Town dominated most of the game but failed to score, and generally circumstances conspired against us. So we lost 1-0 away to a similarly placed team that perhaps we should have beaten. Technically we stay top but are more realistically third. Things aren't really that bad are they? Yes we have lost three on the trot, but look at Man United's crisis a few months ago - now look at them. Blimey, I also follow Huddersfield now - now THAT is a bad run! Lavatorial in fact.

From my bleak lonely hovel in the far north, there are one or two things I don't understand - like how Smithy isn't a regular starter (and finisher) - and Balders - but in 40 years of supporting league and non-league football I can't recall ever not having some little minor disagreement with the managers of my teams. Probably why they're managing and I'm supporting.....

Jim's done ok so far, the worst criticism is that he has caused a lot of expense in timber for larger trophy cabinets. The blip will be over soon, we'll slaughter someone. Mark my words.

So come on Softie, what would you do to stop players from racking up the fines?

Morgan getting sent off yesterday had nothing what so ever to do with anything the supporters did. He was rash in his challenge and gave the inexperienced refeee no option but to send him off.

Sounds like indiscipline to me.

Sorry F.J. but I do not see what point I am missing?
I did not raise the word relegation nor have I slagged off any players.
I am fully behind Town, but, that does not mean that I cannot have an opinion, which is......
That Town need a big strong goal scorer up front for players like Bryne and Trevor to play off.
If we had that type of player I believe we would be out in front of the rest in the League.
Now what is your problem with that ?

i think that we have good home records cause we(the fans) make it feel like home by singing our hearts out for 90 minutes and making it feel intimidating weve had some shocking decisions aswell at home from refs and when we played the other enfield we had the worst ref in the league. i think that we need neutral refs as i think corby deserved to win as wattsy had 1 real save to make yet all you hear on here is bad officiating and all the other excuses. the 1st ref gave you everything in the 1st 10 mins you had 5 free kicks we had 1 so how can you say he did poor. ok ill be honest the other ref was shocking but the lino that came over to help did very well and cant be at fault for anything.
