Slough v Margate Match Thread

Poor first half IMO. Good lob from McCleary in only our second real shot. The other was from Ballard with a similar effort sneaking in to poke the aball over the keeper and just over the bar.

Poor goal for us to concede as most own goals obviously are. Cross in, Masters shouts (a bit late in my opinion) and Avery tried to head back with Masters almost behind him.

Game brought to life in the second half through the sending off, but two pretty poor sides really. Both central midfields seemed more intent on attacking so it was pretty end to end.

Seedel had a storming match, particularly noticeable following the sending off.

Really good game after the boredom of Wednesday's game and to get a point and still look like scoring as much as them after 120 minutes on Wednesday and having 10-men for half an hour today was a great effort - especially on that pitch.

Thought we were a bit slow starting and they bossed it early on, but in the second half easly on we took control and when we went 2-1 up it's a shame we did not go on and get a third as you could always see them scoring again. Seedel MOM by a mile as others have said. Ballard's fitness improves each game and Chopper had his best game in a while I thought.

I had an ideal view of the sending off. It was right in front of me in the stand and it should have not have been red. It should have been yellow.

Gareth loses the ball and yes he dives in to get it but:

- He's lost control and trying to win the ball back

- It's not malicious - eyes for the ball only

- It was NOT two footed

- It's not a high challenge - ie he connects with the Margate's players foot, not ankle or higher.

I can understand why the ref gave it though as from a different angle it would have looked like a right nasty tackle and I can understand the Marget's players reactions. But the lack of reaction from Chris Kinnear and the Margate bench (who appealed for everything all-game!)said it all really as he had pretty much the same view I did.

Good game and hope both teams stay-up as we have had two cracking games this season against them.
